as many of you know, i am a huge md fan. that will serve as my warning for what i am about to say:
i am placing a 4x play on the terps today. if you don't have an acct w/SIA, get out your credit card and get on the phone, now! they have md -4.5 and +135 on the ML.
i could go on for ever about this game and the reasons why md will win but i won't. let me say that before the season began, i predicted md and duke would split for the 3rd yr straight, only this time it would be different, each would win at home instead of on the road. i still felt that going into the game at durham(there is no way jwill was going to accept an 0fer at home vs md). much like that game for duke, md needs this game. they have 4 goals for the season
-undefeated at home
-acc title
-return to the final 4
-win a natl champ

right now they are focused on the 1st 2. this is a huge hurdle to those goals. md will lay it all on the line today. some of you likely remember the 1st half of the game at duke last month. it's likely you remember it b/c it was the best half of basketball by far this season. md will continue that half for the whole game today but i don't think duke will have it. the crowd is huge in games like this and md's crowd will likely never be louder than today.
i think md will have some adjustments in store for duke today that will make the difference and if you have a book that features action points, i would jump on the terps b/c i see them winning this by double digits.
the fact that i have been waiting for this game doesn't mean i will win it and bet w/you head b/c i think i have lost mine.

GO TERPS!

Used to have an account with SIA....

last year, tapped out, never went back, opened up one at olympic but if your a dog player, you would have to have or have had an account with them to actually believe how much they are heavy on the favorites, never seen a better place to play dogs:)

The boys in Syracuse have this one @ 3. There are two things you can do in a Duke game this year. Bet Duke or pass. I will take Duke -3. The way I see it , Marlyland has one problem, Duke is in the ACC.

Parlay...does Dixon ever play well in a big game. I only get to see him on a national telecast but, especially versus Duke, it seems he doesn't contribute at all.

Of course, Duke makes alot of players look that way but, Blake and Mouton always step up, Dixon looks scared.

good luck today as I'm with you on MD

way to go parlay!

used to live in Glover Park, DC and have followed MD bball for a long time. obviously it's not over yet, but when you hold Duke to just 29 pts in 1H, well.....let's cross our fingers. good call so far.

the new late night guy on the radio kept saying how untouchable Duke was the last couple nights (sportingnews radio) and that not only do they have the #1 player in America -- Jason Williams, but they might also have the #2 player in America -- Chris Duhon

I almost fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard.......if a guy who actually has excelled in his job to have his own show on a syndicated radio network is this much of an idiot, then imagine the kind of people who the books love to have on the baited side of the line are......

I sent the guy and e-mail and asked him if he had watched Duke play this year or even had any clue as to what Duhon's stats -- much less his presence on the court -- was like this year......of course he had no clue.....and he wrote me back and said he "misspoke"......

Our local guy also has been saying all week that Duke will win it all because they are much deeper than anyone else.......again......i called in this time and asked him on the air if he could name anyone off of Duke's bench.......of course he could not......

just unbelievable the ignorance and myth that are out there......gives one hope to beating the bookie........

azbob - don't know how many opportunities you get to watch md or md vs duke but that statement is simply flat wrong. all you have to do is check out the box scores from md's last 2 wins over duke(@cameron his soph yr and his jr yr) to see how he shined. as a matter of fact, until the 2nd half of the final 4 game, juan had played extremely well against duke.
but if you follow dixon, his greatness is in his completeness as a player. if he doesn't hurt you scoring, he will hurt you on D on the boards and in other ways.
i was at the game at cameron. jones had a fistful of jersey most of the game but even when dixon would beat him, dunleavy was quick to the double. coach K's gameplan was to make others beat them. juan, being the team player that he is, has been working ever since the duke game at taking advantage of what other teams are doing to defense him. the large rise in mouton's scoring isn't a coincidence.
dixon isn't like jwill. he will never force the issue. he will take what is given and do what is best for the team. that is why you can look for md to take the acc tourney title as well(and that should be a bigger #). it is the case of a very good team w/great depth vs some extrememly talented individuals.

thanks for the kudos folks and i hope the write up helped.

thanks vol - you'll have to teach me how to put the pix under the name. i need a big turtle.

doc - that is the whole reason i am at SIA. not my favorite book, but since betmaker was bought out, it is the best spot on the planet for the puppies. i needed that win today after i got taken to the cleaners by aces.

Fear the Turtle

Didn't bet the game but I was still nervous until 14.6 seconds left. Duke does that to me. Great game by the Terps, Wilcox stepped up big.

Nice call Parlay.
