Guys, if he didn't touch the bag, he would have been safe. Since he touch, then overslid, he was tagged out!! Thought the play was dead also but it is not!!

He gets second base on the walk. After he touched the base and then went past it, he was a live runner again.
Imagine if ball four was a wild pitch, and the runner rounded the base and was headed to third, then got tagged tryin to get back to second, he would be out.
Similar play. If he had just trotted into second he would be safe

I understand IO but the ump never made the call. But how does the walk not negate the play??? Very Strange

I didn't see it but if he overslid the bag then although the walk would negate the steal, he would still be out for being off the bag. An example... say he didn't steal and it was ball 4 and he casually jogged to second. If, for some reason, he kept jogging past second they could tag him and he would be out. You have a right to 2nd on a walk but you actually have to stop at the bag.

Freak play, if the umpire makes the call on ball four faster, the catcher never throws to second and he is safe. I have found a new way to lose a bet.
