On the course!
I can't see how the Packers will stop the Niners from scoring, and I can't see Favre being held in check. The Packers have not looked well on defense as of late, and have even more injuries to deal with after last week.

Garcia and company will get some points up, and that 39 point line should fall quite easily. I don't see the weather being a factor, as it is quite mild for January, here in Wisconsin.

I won't bet, but I give this a 3 unit rating.

I think if this line hits 4, San Fran is definitely the value. I think some of SF's lines have been too low; they were -2.5 at both Indy and NO and embarrassed both of them. I know much has been made of Favre's w/l record in the cold but I wonder if this is the time the streak ends. Does SF really have a weakness? GB has been very vulnerable to the run the past month. Barring a winter storm, I see this flying over the total.

Love this total to blast upwards of 60! Both teams will score 25 or more, I know over the past couple of games SF has held up there bargain but their opponents have just really stunk up the field! What is up down in NO, that was the most pitiful exhibition of a game on the Saints part I have ever seen! Hasslet should have benched his first and second teamers and let some of the fans come down out of the stands and play! Even if the Drunk guy with the bad hat had started drinking the day before he could have outgained Williams and well hell I'm getting of this soap box it has nothing to do with this particular thread, Sorry bout that! OVER IS SAFE!

gb-sf almost over by half

gb-sf almost over by half

i also see an offensive showdown between these two defensive challenged teams. my guess is 31 pts in first half with both defenses digging in with final score of 27-24 either way...

Don't worry about cold weather Garcia played in calgary of the CFl and played in -20 to -30 temperatures. There were snowstorms and blizzards. With his style and the zero pass rush from the pack, I just see the Niners as a better team overall. Owens and Garcia should connect vs Pack weak corners.

The lid is off this topic, so I'll add my surprise at seeing this total dropping to 38.5. When these teams meet, you have to expect one team to put scores on the board and the other team to come storming back. Both teams are successful in the red zone and with big play strikes. The 49ers have dealt with foul weather, and nothing truly awful (far from it) is in the forecast. I haven't checked yet on the 49ers, but this year the Packers have done a better job of getting off to a quick start on offense. Later on I'll probably offer some positive thoughts on the Packers defense in this spot, but even then I certainly expect the 49ers to get some good things accomplished on offense. This will be the 49ers third straight road game, but how much of an impact is that likely to have? Neither team is going to game plan ball control to keep the other offense off the field, are they? Are we missing something here?

BAINS is right about Garcia; this isn't the first time he's had to deal w/cold weather, and the early forecast doesn't sound too bad for this time of year. I'm guessing the total has not gone up because the belief is that in Green Bay in January it will be 20 below w/a wind chill of 50 below and 2 feet of snow. Besides, San Fran isn't exactly Phoenix or Miami. They're not coming from 85 degree heat.

I believe without a doubt the over is the best bet on all four games avaliable to wager on this weekend. I look for a 50+ point total from both teams on Sunday. Over/Under currently at 40 and I think it goes higher come gametime.

And the winner Is?

And the winner Is?

GBay and Over. Philly looks real good. Kiss Miami good By. Can the Jets do it two weeks in a row. Or will the costing Raiders get going? Seems to me this one I can't get a handle on. I do know homers are good in these first 8 games. That would be 4 this week and 4 next. Thought I better say that before someone goes nuts looking for the other 4 this week.:nono:

Weather on Sunday

I know its still 36 or so hours until kickoff on Sunday, but the latest forcast I've heard is for the temp to be near 30 degrees and snow. Hoping the forcast doesn't change much and the total drops another point or point and a half.......:D

The line has moved up from 40 on friday to currently 43. Weather looks to be a non factor which should make for a high scoring affair.
