but Charlie Batch separated his shoulder last Sunday and could possibly be out the entire year. That might be a good thing, since his team could possibly go 0-16. At least he can tell his buddies that he was injured for a good portion of the season.

Detroit travels to Tampa this Sunday where they square away against the Bucs. Rookie quarterback Mike McMahon, a fifth-round draft pick from Rutgers who has been used in spot duty the last few weeks, will start next week's game at Tampa Bay and could hold the No. 1 spot ahead of Ty Detmer the rest of the year for the winless Lions.

I'm certain that the line on this game will move North before Sunday. At Olympic, it sits at -9 & 40. Bucs have a tendency to not put many points on the board and pretty much play to their level of comopetition. I do think however, that they should put a real ass-whoopin on this QBless ballclub. Detroit's game plan will surely be to run the ball the majority of the time, trying to keep their rookie QB from making too many mistakes and getting his confidence shaken.

I'll be playing the Bucs -9 BIG and the UNDER 40 Super Big. Not a fan, but can't resist the tease either....

BUCS -2 & UNDER 47 SUPER DUPER BIG!

iT will also be interesting to see how the Raiders perform after the humiliating loss to the Cardinals last week. They get the hated Chiefs at home this Sunday, and I bet Gruden will give 'em hell this week in practice. RAIDERS -9

Pats -5 at home against the Browns is another possibility. I still think Cleveland is gettin' a little too much respect from the linesmakers. They just don't really impress me, especially on the road....

Lookin also at the Falcs +3' @ home against division rival NEW ORLEANS. Somebody needs to tell the Saints they aren't that good. Very very inconsistent and should have gotten beat last week against Carolina....

initially I disagree with both plays. maybe the tampa tease...but more value in Det + 15, no?

it is never wise to lay more than a touchdown in division rivalries. this kid McMahon looked pretty good in the limited duty he has had. I think he comes out playing like Brady, or at least van Pelt and keeps his team in the game against a team that is notorious for not covering big spreads. Oakland should spank KC, but then again they should have spanked Ariona on Sunday! Oh wait, Arizona was not bitch slapped by someone in prime time the weak before, like KC, so Oak must be a lock(?). Find a reason to play KC or pass. Oakland may cover but this is a 'sucker' play. just my two cents....

I agree with the NE/CLE analysis. I think this Browns team is overrated. Tom Brady still is performing also.

Someone mentioned a couple of weeks ago about the let down after a poor performance from a good team. Not many facts coming from me because I don't remember the actual numbers, but Oakland would qualify here. I see Oakland as a possible go against after their poor showing instead of the opposite.

Does anyone remember who brought that up?

Beware laying 9 with the Bucs. Tampa is now 9-19 ATS under Dungy laying more than 4.5 pts. McMahon looked good on T-Giving vs the Pack, and he engineered a nice drive at the end of the game vs the Bears but Hanson missed his 3rd FG attempt. Arguably, the Lions outplayed the Bears; they also already played the Bucs very tough in Pontiac.
