The ex-PBA member that owns the house we bowl at weekly has somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 sanctioned 300 games and just as many 800 series. He just does not miss his mark...like ever.
Back around 1990, everyone went synthetic lanes, new re-active surface balls, oiled lanes......changed bowling forever......
I was a career 150 wooden lanes bowler, became a 180 plastic lanes bowler within a year with an outrageous lime green Rhino Ball.
Gave it up when my back went...never hit the magic 300, except in 9 pin no tap league. Best was a 289 game.....

18 year old kid in my town set the city record a couple weeks ago with an 889.

Go on bowl.com and search for Andrew Neuer. You can look at his accomplishments. He probably has 15 300s this YEAR.

Now if you're within 6/7 inches of your mark the ball walks right in the pocket. Send it out and it rips back, tug it and sets.
Passing out 300's down here like Tic-Tacs.
I guess if you're gonna make the league bowlers pay $20.00 a week you better make sure they can score.
I'm old school and would like to see them put oil on every board again. Never gonna happen.
Oil was SOOO bad in the day, everyone had a can of acetone in their bag to clean the ball after every game.
God help you if you wore a white shirt to bowling!
