byu was a pretty easy winner
thnx for the title wally lamb (one of the best books ever fyi)
South Florida + 17 -116 x 4
I remember back in grade school when BJ Daniels was still quarterbacking this South Florida team. The 20th year senior is still at the helm and getting blown by the ESPN pundits who still think this guy possesses the skills to play at the next level. He barely possesses the skills to play at the college level. After an impressive rookie campaign, he's done nothing but digressed ever since. Basically, he sucks.
In comes the back to prominence powerhouse Florida St. coming off an impressive home win and (should have covered....maybe) win over Clemson on national TV. All systems go for FSU. You are never as good or bad as your last game. The line is low and moved off of the 17 when most are tomahawking the seminoles. I just think the line, the matchup, and the conditions stink. On paper, FSU should win by 35 +, but I suppose that's why they play the game, and I suppose that's why there is gambling.
South Florida will find a way to cover, via a fluke play, ref payoff, or FSU on the take. They will talk about how great BJ Daniels is as he completes a four yard screen or scrambles for 2 yards on a 3rd and 8. What a warrior he is, and all that nonsense. He still sucks, but for just 3 hours, he will not suck enough. South Florida finds a way to hang at home.
I know this much is true (at least I think I do)
