i read that nacho beristain likes his boy escobedo`s chances vs d.pdl. saturday night....and after seeing this at fightwriter and and hearing it on a local radio boxing show,i`ll take the +575....

i wasn`t aware that escobedo was the same guy i saw beristain with on telefutura and i agree that the guy reminds you a little of juan manuel marquez......

the guy`s been stopped before....when he was 19 or 20....he`s only 23 now....and he`s actually moving down from featherweight for the fight,so he`s not gonna be a smallish super bantamweight vs the powerful ponce.....

he could get overwhelmed, but,if he gets out of the first few rounds,he seems to be a good enough technician....and has the size to maybe pull this off...

and the fact that all beristain`s fighters seem to handle lefties pretty well is just the cherry on top at+575....

if it makes you feel better my guy has this dog play too. And he is unbelievable with dogs in the past.
I took escobedo at 800 and on points at 1300.
H?usler didnt come through but a draw saves my ass.
Now i am looking forward to elcock against Abraham. Abraham is a huge puncher but he has a horible workrate and gets tired sometimes at 1000 its worth a shot.

total war between williams and platow.
third round coming up

Williams get jobbed a little and Abraham knocks Elcock in five but he is throwing so few punches is horrible. Gimme someone with a good chin and a decent workrate and i he will beat Abraham.
He has a punchers chance against anybody though.

Franks has a thread on this fight which he started on Thurs. A few of us are on esco @+900. I was wondering what your guy was going to say about this one Tony. I like his chances but it's imperative he gets out of the early going. I got a feeling he may just take the fight to Ponce. Ponce is so overrated. I thought Vic Darch was very beatable and I don't think Ponce is as good as Vic.

Punch, if you are out there somewhere, please chime in on this one!

I recall Manny Steward saying the fight with Pavlik would not last 1 round. Perhaps we should have taken it on his say-so? Escobedo is going to get slaughtered. He is in over his head. Ponce is hyped up yes. What fighter isn't? Tonite is schooling for the kid. If Ponce doesn't go ape-shit on this kid on a major PPV event, it would surprise me much.

You just won't allow me to get pissed off will you! There aren't too many Juan Manuel Marquez's floating around. I realize you catch a chubby just at the mention of Nacho's name, but ALL trainers think their guys walk on water. Oh well, we'll just have to watch and wait, my brother.

Escobedo needs to get some respect. He is hanging in there but he has to land something to make Ponce stop alittle.

I was saying the exact same thing. He needed to get Ponces respect w/something significant. Ponce can and will be beaten but it's going to take somebody w/a little zip on his punches. Esco wasnt able to hurt him although he landed a bunch. I bet 250 and it still wasn't a bad bet @+900

i think he SHOULD have beaten ponce....when he went offensive,he landed clean shots(which ponce did very little of)......

letterman kept saying that ponce landed the "clean" shots?......????...that clubbing back of the head in the clinch stuff?.....letterman`s horrible....

ponce looked horrible.....a more confident escobedo beats him......and i blame the corner...they kept saying "keep doing what you`re doing" when it was clear that he was taking way to much time in many rounds off......

he fought a bit to carefully....it`s ashamed, because i think it was his for the taking....ponce is there for the taking....

at +575?.....anybody that watched that fight understands why escobedo was a live dog....

some guys really want it badly....escobedo was content to lay back and lose...

You guys were mostly right. He is quite overated and limited. Back to the drawing board.
