I'm looking for a 70 or 75 inch tv for the basement. Are there better deals towards fall/football season?

I used to keep up with every new HD feature but it's been years and I'm lost. What should I look for?

I have plasma TVs and I love them and I can't believe that they don't make them anymore. I always thought they had the best picture for sports.

this is from january: "10 Terrific TVs for Super Bowl Sunday"

http://www.avsforum.com/10-terrific-tvs-for-super-bowl-sunday/

i'm stuck with 50'' plasma, all new models i have seen just aren't that good or price is +5k

plasma is gone because it couldn't be made in 4k and power consumption is high vs new led etc tv's

hoping you find good tv, surprisingly difficult task... :0074

Plasma's were great - LCD sucked assfries.

But - neither are being made so don't worry about it. Newer tech has prevailed.

For a 70, I would strongly consider this one FOR THE PRICE. Get it? The price is good for this TV. You can do a lot better on quality, but this is good.

Vizio 70" Class (69.5" Diag.) 4K Ultra HD Smart Home Theater Display M70-D3

If you want quality, get this one.

Sony - 75" Class (74.5" diag) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 3D - 4K Ultra HD TV with High Dynamic Range

One last thing - many people here will say shit like "I will never buy a LG or Vizio ever again. They suck." Whatever brand they talk about doesn't suck. The shitty demo they bought off the floor sucked. Don't listen to anyone including me. Just go to the store - look for yourself and buy one that fits your budget and viewing tastes.

Lastly - if you watch sports WAAAAY more than movies - get 4K. If you watch movies more - skip 4K and save 2K. :0008

I have Vizios in my rentals all are fine. You can get Vizio refurbs for peanuts... also 1 50 inch Panasonic Plasma still looking great after 10 years. Have 3 70 inch Sharps in my home and all are still fine after 7 years.... Just depends on how much $$ you want to blow... Just my 2 cents.

I bought my 4k 65" Samsung 2 years ago, never have watched anything in 4K yet? Direct tv says I need a box since the TV is so old now.....the new ones have the chip built in. Paid twice what it costs today
Technology has come a long way in the past few years and prices have dropped a bunch.

So you have thirty TV's over ten years old? No problems? That's cool.
