I'm trying to ge started in golf betting, but having some trouble understanding all the terms associated with it. For Example: each-way (is this like betting horses?), spread betting (including buying and selling), trading (this sounds like the stock market)and other terms.
Anyone have a good site to read about all this terminology? I don't expect anyone to give a long write-up to try and teach me, although everyone in this forum is extremely congenial.
Thanks again for any help

"Each Way" or "EW" is a British betting term. It generally means if your selection finishes in the top 3 you will get paid out at a fraction of the Win odds, usually 1/4, if you backed the selection EW.

Example: If you back a horse at $10 EW and it wins at 10/1 you would get win $10 at 10/1 ($100) plus $10 at 2.5/1 ($25) for a total win of $125. If the horse finishes either 2nd or third, you lose the $10 on the "win" part of the bet, but get $10 at 2.5/1, $25 back. In the latter case you would have wagered a total of $20 and got a return of $35 (which includes the $10 stake on the EW, (or Place & Show) portion of the bet.

Hope this is reasonably clear.

Good luck!!
