As a general rule the 1st base umpire will move behind homeplate as the series progresses in rotation...barring injuries etc.

New series umps are generally released anywhere from 5-30 minutes before gametime .

below are a few of the games from wednesday to show examples, note the 1st base umpire and in future after 1 game has been played in a series check the boxscore of the previous game.

NYY/Clev:
Umpires - Home - Brian Gorman, First Base - Scott Barry, Second Base - Sam Holbrook, Third Base - Gerry Davis,

Bost/Detroit:
Umpires - Home - Jim Reynolds, First Base - James Hoye, Second Base - Gary Cederstrom, Third Base - Fieldin Culbreth,

SD/Atl:
Umpires - Home - Brian Knight, First Base - Paul Schrieber, Second Base - Lazaro Diaz, Third Base - Wally Bell,

Phil/Arizona:
Umpires - Home - Paul Emmel, First Base - Gary Darling, Second Base - Jerry Meals, Third Base - Bill Miller,
