In all seriousness, I was at that same Home Depot Saturday buying a towel rack. That parking lot is under cover and very poorly designed in that even if there are only 5 cars in there, it is always congested. What if the guy was casing the joint before the hit on Monday? I have taken this all with a grain of salt so far, but this one just hit a little too close for home for me.

interesting... What I'd like to see that I haven't yet is what the FBI profilers say about this guy, u know, the kind of stuff u read in books or see on TV.

I think they should STOP calling him a sniper!! Think he is feeding off the title. Doubt he is trained by the military and if he change his name to something like SICK SHOOTER, he will start making mistakes. just my 2 cents.

Sniper, obviously, makes for better copy though. News graphics with DC in the middle of crosshairs and the word "SNIPER" written across it are pretty dramatic stuff. Of course, he may not be a "military grade sniper" or anything, but in standard usage of "sniper" that's exactly what he is, picking people off from a concealed position.
I, too, often drive where this guy is operating and just yesterday gassed up near the beltway. It's unrealistic, statistically, to feel uneasy, but I challenge you not to.
Don't be surprised if there's one today. Its raining in the area and they don't get the helicopters up when it rains (because of visibility they say). Of course, for all I know, he may not be concerned about copters at all. Also, since it started he hasn't gone 2 days without getting someone, except on the weekends, and there wasn't one yesterday. I don't really like to speculate about it though. Well, I do, but don't put much stock in my speculations.

If he was a military sniper, he would have no trouble picking these people off at distances in excess of 400 yards especially when the target can be random. This is not a military trained sniper. Anyone with any kind of background with guns could make these shots. A 100-150 yard shot is a piece of cake, and most any bozo could do it. I also agree that sniper is too flattering a word. What he is doing is akin to going up to a fenced in cow and shooting it. These victims are not at war, and they had no clue someone was trying to kill them.

Some years ago I enrolled in several psych courses that consisted of (Social psych, Abnormal psych, ethical pysch, etc etc)
I know that the Montgomery county police dept has hired a Canadian who is a specialist in profiling. I sent an email to the Montgomery dept telling them that from my findings of his shooting pattern he will strike on thursday between 9am-3pm.
I have been following this tragedy very closely and I am wondering why it is taking them so long to nab the bastard.
My fear is what if the guy (guys) now disappear, what then? I don't believe they have the evidence to track him down. But something tells me he won't stop until he is caught.
Again, this is just my opinion based on the events of this evil terror, but I say the Sniper is a methodist. The method he uses is evil. I am not saying all methodist' are evil, but given the law of averages of such events that have occured in the past, that is my opinion.
