The outcome will be similar but maybe a good O/U will be in place. Soto will NOT be DQ'd in Mexico even if he takes the boots to Lorenzo.

My worst loss by far of all time...approx 7600 and 100 % due to the incompetence of Joe Cortez. It was 1500 in the bank and it was simply stolen from me. The big loser of course was Soto. I'm looking for a little vengeance.

I hope you get it. Cortez should have been flogged and pillaged after that disgraceful showing. Wasn't there a fight recently, maybe Juan Ma, who banged a downed opponent and Cortez was the 3rd man in the ring? Can you imagine if he DQ'd JuanMa for that?

Yes, Kramden, Lopez didn't just hit Medina while he was down, he hit him with a solid shot while the Argentinean was on one knee that knocked Medina sideways to the canvas. Cortez did nothing, and nothing was said about it. (Just as nothing would have been said if Cortez had simply stopped the fight when Lorenzo went down for the second time in the fourth and ignored Soto's last, glancing blow -- just as he ignored JuanMa's blatant, hard shot while Medina was down.)

That Soto-Lorenzo DQ was so blatantly and completely wrong it almost defies belief.

Unfortunately, boxers these days do have a tendency to get in that one, last hit when a guy is down -- a "one for luck" type of thing. Andre Berto did it when he won the title against the Mexican guy, Rodriguez. If the other guy is clearly beaten, or if the punch is of no consequence, a ref will almost always let it go and consider it an accident.

In the Soto-Lorenzo fight, Lorenzo was out of the fight, done, totally beaten. The fight was OVER. That was what made Soto's DQ such a travesty.

Not sure if Soto can get him out in four rounds again. He summoned up a lot of intensity that night in Vegas and was on an emotional high, really gunning for it. I thought Soto was very disappointing in his last fight, almost a flat performance. Lorenzo will be running like a thief. Kramden is right, though, there is no way Soto gets disqualified in the rematch.

that's right, it was definitely JuanMa and that shot was much worse than the Soto punch. You know Cortez had to have flashbacks. Suprised Lorenzo is taking this fight.

Since the rules are enforced a little more leniently at times in Mexico

for your sake Romi...once Soto finishes off Lorenzo Saturday, they should let Cortez jump in there for a few rounds...still wouldn't make up for 7600

a blatant robbery and the worst I can EVER personally remember

hope this is televised Saturday....not sure if you can call it justice, but Soto will get his KO

I wonder what the over-under will be set at?

poor lorenzo catches all the payback for cortez` brain fart....

who said life was fair?...

Lorenzo did some major acting to get the DQ. His corner told him to stay down and he played it for all his worth, grabbing the back of his head, laying flat out on the canvas like it was the glancing blow that did him in.. and Cortez and the useless Keith Kizer who took Ratner's job as executive director on Nevada Athletic Commision, didn't have the guts to make the right call..... For Soto backers, that may have very well been the worst beat you'll see.

well...acting was the smart thing to do...he gets a rematch(i.e. another payday)....not to mention a win.....

nobody expected him to jump up and ream cortez for giving him the gift...

it`s on cortez.....but,something tells me lorenzo`s gonna pay dearly...

i still want to see soto in with someone similar in talent level that would make for a great fight...antillion/linares/valero or even guerrero...

this is garbage...wagering aside, the fact that theres a useless rematch is a good enough reason to castrate cortez...

what a waste of time..

12/20/08 140 Round Prop
Over 6.5 (+160)
Under 6.5 (-200)

What do we think fellas....Wlad JUST did pull this out for us last weekend

Now we got the same number of rounds for Soto (whp put an absolute 4 round beatdown on Lorenzo last time)

I reckon he is gonna smoke poor old Lorenzo in front of the hometown...but prior to last fight the veteran had never been stopped....

HMMMM :00x32 :00x32

WBC super featherweight interim champion, Humberto Soto will take on Francisco Lorenzo this Saturday in Cozumel, Mexico in a "Unfinished Business" to determine once and for all who is the true champion. "Everyone knows I one the first fight and I was disqualified unfairly. This time there will be no doubt of who is the better fighter of the two", said Soto during the final press conference. Lorenzo and Soto faced off on June 26 in Las Vegas and Soto was on his way to the victory when he was disqualified for hitting Lorenzo when he was down, according to Joe Cortez and the Nevada Athletic Commission. "I went down looking for a breather and he hit me when I was down. This time I will be more ready and will take home the title," said Lorenzo.

I was about to post the same quote Ghost... Taking a breather with blood squirting out of his eye like a fire hydrant.

Can somebody clarify if father and son are in Soto's corner or opposite corners opposing each other? Thx. I like the under here but certainly not crazy about the -200 odds. Odds have changed rather dramtically from the 1st fight. Soto -700, now -1500. The under was +130 10 1/2 rds, now 6 1/2 -200.

-200 if a rough line for under 6.5...but it's probably set appropriately

My first instinct is that Soto is still going to to it...this is going to be one blood thirsty crowd

Soto had one of the most egregious referee decisions in history go against him last time...every punch that lands is going to send the crowd into a frenzy Saturday night...

Is it wrong of me to say I can't wait to see this one?
Something about righting a wrong that always feels damn good

Lorenzo is pretty brave to go into the lion's den after the acting job he put on last time...I don't see how he makes it through this fight....Soto ITD (if its offered) seems a foregone conclusion

looking at Soto's record, since 2004...only Rocky Juarez and Joan Guzman have managed to not get KO'ed by this guy....Soto is a beast

How long and fast can Lorenzo run is the question. I remember seeing Soto here in Vegas before he made a name for himself. He is a walk- em down-stalker type of guy; fearless and tough as nails. I don't understand why Lorenzo is doing this??? Is he delusional? Maybe he feels he really can win here. I just can't see it. 6.5 is a toughie if Lorenzo puts on his track shoes or Ruiz's the whole operation. I just ain't sure right now.

Good point Franks and that's my hesitation. Is Lorenzo coming to win or to survive? I suggest the latter. If he's in his right mind, he can't possibly think he can win this. He's a cagey vet and I expect him to be much more defensive minded. 6.5 is a tough call. Another thing, is there anyway Soto wants to punish this guy over several rds? I still lean to the under as I think Soto will track him down but just a few things to consider. -200 isn't overly tempting although I would like a little vengeance myself. I NEVER let emotion play a role in my wagers but I REALLY want to see Soto knock this guy the puck out.

Fair but firm Cortez is responsible for this abortion. I agree; Soto, I would like to see do what he was in the process of doing before a ref over-reacted and went Mother Cabrini on us. Soto will eat this boy alive. Is it a 5 course sit-down meal with utensils, or drive through Mickey-D's? I lean toward the fast-food version.

Played the UNDER 6.5-200. Big time chalk, but at 37, and no fight since the inevitable KO last time out versus Soto. it could hit. Also, did you guys see the fightnews.com photo. Soto looks seriously and totally pissed off. And he can walk the walk. I see unbridled and massive agression by Soto to make a statement.
