I was reading an article on the subject of health care reform, and a question was posed that I had never considered. Other than the obvious consideration by half the forum of doing away with all lawyers, consider this:

Why in America are we guaranteed a lawyer, but not guaranteed a doctor? Kind of an interesting thought, really.

Who's not guaranteed a doctor if they go to emergency room?

Flip side if a pennyless bum whats to sue another pennyless bum--what attorney will represent either?

You are not guaranteed a lawyer. Except for a few tiny programs, no money, no lawyer.

Why are we not guaranteed health care? Well, we are, sort of. Any emergency room will treat you regardless of ability to pay. They will stabilize you in an emergency, after that, you're on your own. Show up with a heart attack, they will give you fluids and drugs to the point that you won't die in the next hour. Need a bypass and don't have insurance or $150K cash? Die.

Chad I noted that pelosi said her plan would cover 36 mil who don't have insurance now--

Considering that Medicade pays 100% of medical cost of all those in poverty level--and schips pays for children whos family are 400% above poverty level--I wonder if you or she could tell us what catagory these 36 mil come from and why they don't have health ins?
Appears it isn't monetary unless their here illegally and can't qualify for other programs.

Very interesting question Chad....

you have the right to remain silent..... :SIB

Watching/listening to MSNBC this morning and they were dscussing HC Reform, shocking huh? :scared Hilary's plan is 500 pages shorter than this current edition and covered EVERYONE The one that is being kicked around now is a mess, too much for anyone to understand.

I think a way to solve it would be through several parties.

1) RATIONAL THINIKNG POLITICIANS :mj07: :mj07: ( FUNNY HUH) THERE ARE ABOUT 5?

2) DR'S/HOSPITALS

3) INSURANCE COMPANIES

4) TOWN HALL PANELS FROM ALL SOCIO-ECONOMIC CIRCLES THAT ARE NOT HAND PICKED BY THE POLS OR NEWS NETWORKS

I go back and forth on this whole issue where I can afford very good health insurance, but the guys that work for me and their spouses and dependents depend on state and federal assistance and the bullshit they have to go through. My ex wife and 3 kids have to do the same thing, I would cover my kids, by they live in another state. I pay a very large amount for child support, so they are never suffering or doing without food, clothes or utilities. What she does with the money is her business, I have done the research for her and pulled up several excellent insurance programs, but she stays with the state insurance. :0corn
