Hawkeye--

good to see you around again.. thought you had forgot about us here at MJ's. Our Hawks looked pretty good at the Spring Game, and with the Big-10 in a down cycle, I'm thinking we can really suprise this year.
Any chance you planning a trip over for a ballgame this fall??

Hawkeye-

It would be great if you could make it back for a game-- the first dozen cold ones are on me-- after that, you are on your own.

OUCH! Phil Steele likes the Hawks? That scammer couldn't pick a winner with tomarrow's paper in front of him. LOL.

Should be a fun time in Ames this year-- after three straight losses to Moo U the Hawks should be ready to stomp on them. ISU lost everybody and everything they had from their bowl team last year, and we have two games before we play them-- and I think they only play one before us.
Am going up for the game for the first time in 15 years.. Gonna be a lot of pissed-off Cyclown fans after that one!
Hope you make it home for a game this year.

Hey red/hawkeye:

Us Clone alum take whatever we can get with football.

How would you like to live with a wife who graduated from ISU, and two Masters from IU and KU? Sensed you asked, she is the BEST!!!

Keep this quiet, but love the Hawks most times. Hayden Fry, Chuck Long, Tim Dwight.......Jim Zabol, on and on.

Will never forget 1970 in the old fieldhouse, first game I ever saw live.

Hawks win 108-106 or something close to that against Purdue. Ralph Miller's boys beat Rick Mount's Boilermakers. I think Mount still has the single game scoring record against Iowa at 53? And lost to JJ, Downtown Freddy Brown, Chad Calabria, and company.

Remember the Final Four against Louisville.....twin towers, Ronnie Lester.....

What a thrill!

Memories are good. Take care of Iowa for me.

Darn, I guess I dated myself and let the cat out of the bag!

KCWolf--

An ISU alum? And Anders told me you were a good guy-- I guess he was lying to me.....

I didn't see a game in the old Iowa Fieldhouse until 1978, when I was 14. Ronnie Lester, Kevin Boyle, Steves Kraftesin and Waite-- Ralph Miller had already left for Oregon, and we had a young, upcoming head coach by the name of Lute Olson..

I miss the old barn-- you ever sit upstairs in the bleachers, KC? When the place got excited, they amount of sway could scare you if it was new to you..

Bob Cummings, huh? You knew it was a good year for football when a Bob Cummings team won more that 2 games in a season.
Go Hawks!

Hey Red,

Sat behind the pole in the upper deck a few times in the old barn. Also sat in those rock'n bleachers.

Been to Carver too. Nice place if you like cold winters.

Last time I was at Kinnick, I arrived late, close to the end of the fourth quarter.

Some guy named Lee C. coached Indiana. He calls himself an expert on the CFB show on ESPN now.

Seems Chuck Long put the Hawkeyes up 48-0 at the end of the quarter.

Plenty of TigerHawk stuff around the house, so don't write me off as a real bad guy.

Granted, Anders is a much better guy than I. We all know that.

Take care,

I would have been at that game, too. Chuck Long's playing career at Iowa corresponds to my 4 years as an undergrad there. Never missed a game...
Yep, sat behind those the pole upstairs at the old barn a time or two myself. Only thing I like about Carver is the parking-- and its OK for watching wrestling meets.
What do you mean KC--- Lee Corso is a great "expert". If he likes a team, you just take the other side....instant winner..LOL.
