They go down as the GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
Sorry no argument against this. None. Nada. Nothing.
Absolutely 100% AGREE.... I don't see how they don't after watching this game... It seemed like to me, they KNEW they could take over the lead and close it out, whenever they wanted.... At the 4:40 Mark, down 2 without the ball, (n I think Cleveland scored 2 FT's on that possession after the commercial break, I KNEW, THEY WOULD WIN, BUT BY 3 OR MORE, THAT WAS TO BE SEEN....)
calm down man, they go 16-0 against NOBODY..No Kawaii and then Cleveland (while they got their 1 game out of JR Smith) has TWO, count 'em TWO marquee players (and yes, they didn't play ANYONE to get to the Dubs). While the DUBS are that much better than every team in this league I wouldn't go so far as to call them the greatest of all time...YET..Let's see them win 2 more titles and then we can talk...
But tonite was impressive...
Tough to argue not. The NBA currently is close to or at its apex of superstars, and the Warriors have 4 top 20 players. I would argue 3 of their guys are 100% top 3 at their position, only leaving to argue where do ya rank Green at PF.
Watching the Warriors is like having the cheat codes to video games.
Yes amazing talent in one place at that time. Imagine what animals they would be today with the changes in nutrition, and training physiology. GS is amazing. Its scary that they can become even better.I usually don't get involved in these discussions, but I'll throw a few cents in as we've all got opinions on 1 thing or another
Tonight was impressive, the key shot being Durant's 3 pt shot to take the lead late, huge...
And I LOVE how Golden St moves the ball around the floor, ALL players sharing is the MOST fun way to play, and very entertaining to watch, esp with their excellent long-range shooting.
For my 2 cents, I still believe the Lakers had the best team ever over a period of yrs... and I'm not even talking about the team that won 33 straight with my all-time favorite player Jerry West (and Wilt, and Gail Goodrich, and blah blah)..
My pick would be the teams with Kareem, Magic, Worthy, Scott, Cooper, McAdoo, Mychal Thompson, Jamal Wilkes, Rambis, etc aka "Showtime" w/Pat Riley at the helm. Magic and Bird brought basketball into the spotlight where it's remained ever since
I know people today will give little regard as "those old-timers couldn't keep up" blah blah blah...
How many slam dunks you think GSt would make against Jabbar ?
People don't remember Michael Cooper, but he was a "stopper"... I know, I know.. NObody can stop Curry.. and who would cover Durant? Not sure (Worthy?), but Lakers (and Celtics, 76'ers, and others) played pretty good team defense and had a mental toughness I don't see among the league today.
Jordan's Bulls had a few pretty damn good teams too, including 2 of the best defensive players of that era in Pippin and Jordan, and the best coach probably ever...
different eras, teams that today focus on the 3pt shot as their regular offense... apples and oranges
The competition today is much weaker than back in the 70's and 80's (especially in the East), Lebron staying Eastbound, and making whichever teams are fighting to sign him also sign "Kyrie", "Kevin" (and whoever else he sees as necessary to make the Eastern finals) practically guarantees his appearance in the Finals yr after yr, and he will retire with all the playoff records in his name.
But I don't think either of these teams is the greatest of all time.... and of course it's impossible to prove isn't it? Just speculation and opinion.
all u can do is start a discussion
