Ok, so now that USC won their game, what is going to happen to the polls if LSU beats OU convincingly?

Hypothetically, LSU whomps on OU like usc did to Mich... how does everyone see the polls hashing out? (The AP poll that is)

I still gotta think that if LSU runs away with this one they end up numero uno.

1. LSU
2. USC
(very close in numbers here, i think west coast AP goes USC and east coast goes LSU)
3. Oklahoma
4. Michigan
5. Winner Ohio State/K-state
6 Miami

any other thoughts?

AP poll will definitely have USC at the #1 spot no matter the outcome of the LSU/Oklahoma game. The winner will be second, and I think the winner of the Ohio St./Kansas St. game will be third.

4. Loser of LSU/Oklahoma
5. Tennessee (if beat Clemson)
6. Miami
7. Georgia
8. Michigan

Why not let USC play LSU next saturday for the championship. That's what i would love to see, but in my opinion USC should be #1 and they would beat LSU.

At the outset of the BCS all the coaches, writers, athletic directors, EVERYONE involved with college football, etc... agreed that the winner of the BCS championship game would be considered the National Champion, period. I dont agree, I dont like it, but thats the way it is. The winner of the Sugar bowl is the National Champion reguardless of how the coaches poll turns out. If a team in the NFL goes 16-0, wins in the divisional round of the playoffs and gets screwed be a bad call in the AFC championship game and loses nobody would call them the NFL champions because you have to win the SuperBowl to be the champs, same goes in NCAA football, you gotta win the Championship game, that is what is agreed upon. Will the best team win that game, or even play in it, well not always, but the same goes for the NFL, the best teams did not win the last 2 years as evidence by their ability not to make the playoffs the following season. The BCS is what it is and that's a bad system, but it is what is used to decide the Championship.

Penguin you nailed it dead on. The rules were set & everyone plays by them. If the AP wants to vote you champion in their own world then fine but the "real" national champion is the winner between LSU & Oklahoma as every team knows the deal before the season begins & has to live with how it goes down.

This thread is about what you think will happen in the AP poll. This conversation really has nothing to do with the BCS.
