Because Jeff Fisher knocked up his secretary and he needs this victory to impress her. Refute that
Woman are never impressed by anyone trying to use football to showoff! Witness the Chicks on Football, who in reference to Rams coach Mike Martz running it up on the Jets last week:
"Coach Mikey is a showoff. And no one likes a showoff, particularly us. So get over here, Coach - your team may have spanked the Jets, but now it is your turn to get a taste of your own medicine!"
Maybe Jeff Fisher THINKS this is what women want, but he will be sorely mistaken should he try to impress his knocked-up secretary by ramming a few footballs up the Steelers butts. Remember -- many among the Steelers have mistresses to try to impress as well, so their misguided intentions will offset Fisher's!

Well lets see.......1.Tennessee has won like the last 7 of 8 against Pitt(something like that) 2. Although Pitt is 4-1 they have only scored like 5 tds in 5 games(not that good especially against the teams they have played) 3.Althought Tenn is 2-3 this year remember in their last 37 regular season games Tenn has a w-l record of 28-9(13-3,13-3,2-3) Pretty Good. 3.Pitts 4 wins have come against Buffalo 1-5 (Shitty team who is playing better of late but sucked early in the season) Cincy 4-3 (Not a bad team but really not a good team either Kansas City 1-6 (Need I even comment on the pathethic team) Tampa Bay 3-3 (Offensively sucks and defense hasnt been very good this year 4 teams whose combined record is 9-17. I think Tennessee wins this game outright.....
What "man" needs them to cover?
Does the "man" not need whoever is playing the RAMS to cover every week? And yet the RAMS are 3-3-1 ATS!
And wouldn't it be nice if football's only winless team, the LIONS, covered a few games? Yet they are 2-4 ATS!

Actually, Tenn has won seven straight. But the last six were over the past three years, and each year Tenn had a better record than Pitt, so it should have won! And remember the NYG had a nine-game winning streak vs. Philly going into last week's game that meant nothing.

Pittsburgh doesn't NEED to score a lot since it has a great defense. If it had to concentrate on scoring more, perhaps it would. But Tenn has allowed 24+ points in 5 of its six games, so Pittsburgh might not have much trouble scoring tonite!

Who cares what happened before this year? Before 1999, the Rams had not won more than seven games in a season in nine years! The past didn't matter at all as the Rams won the Super Bowl.

It is not WHO they beat, but HOW they beat them. And Pittsburgh DOMINATED! Remember how Baltimore beat people last year? That is what Pitt is doing.
Pitt is outrushing its foes by more than 100 ypg, which will OBLITERATE the highest mark of the last 10 years. The other 12 teams on that list all won 10 or more games, with most winning 12 or more!

To me, this game is a carbon copy of the Thursday night game. Everyone and their sister kept coming up with meaningless stats like K.C.'s winning percentage at home over the last 5 years--- yadda, yadda, yadda. Whatever.
News flash people... Its a NEW year. And, with free agency the way it is now, you almost have completely different teams each year.
The better team Thursday night was the Colts. The better team tonight is the Steelers. Same results? Time will tell, but I can tell you I'm putting my money on the better team....

OK, So now you are comparing Pittsburghs defense to Baltimores of last year. Why dont you wait until Pittsburgh wins the SB before you put them in the same sentence.

Maverick, the key is to recognize trends BEFORE the general public. Maybe Pittsburgh will prove to not be as good a D as Baltimore's, but right now they are playing as well as Balt did last year. Time will tell if they are comparable over the long run, but it does not take a Super Bowl title to make the D as good. In Pittsburgh's first five games this year, it has allowed 58 points while Baltimore allowed 55 in its first five games last year. And last year Balt had Cincy and Cleveland among its first five foes, two crummy teams just like people are accusing Pitt of fattening up on.
