After leading by 21 points with 16 minutes remaining, the Flames (13-9, 4-4 Horizon) were forced to hold off a furious Raider rally. Jesse Deister had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds for the Raiders (12-7, 4-4), but his fall-away put-back off a missed free throw rimmed out as time expired. The Flames missed three front ends of one-and-one attempts in the final 30 seconds that could have put the game away.
After leading 45-32 at intermission, Illinois-Chicago owned its biggest advantage at 58-37 with 16:04 left. Wright State then began its rally, going on a 29-10 run the rest of the way to set up the final dramatic seconds.
Four Flames finished the game in double figures, including Jabari Harris and Cory Little with 13 points and Cedrick Banks with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Cain Doliboa led all scorers with 23 points for the Raiders. Vernard Hollins added 19 points and Seth Doliboa chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds.
