I served under Reagan and this when I was old enough and first became aware of worldly situations. I enlisted the day after he bombed Kaddaffy. I knew Bush Sr was a scumbag and aware of Jr as a total turd. Same goes for Slick Willie and just about anyone, uhh I mean everyone who has besmirched the office of the POTUS.
I as I grew up and had the opportunity to read and understand what these me represented while they were in office, I became more bitter towards American Politics. In High School, the Social Studies, American Government Class was nothing but total brain washing, but why would I care? I was hovering around a C+ B- in grades, playing football and chasing tail, politics was the furthest thing from my mind.
I recieved many NO SHITTERS from my higher ups about my philosophies in Politics and life, and and really didn't give 2 shits and or a fuck. I had 15 years in, 5 years for a full retirement, I had all the career counseling, my commander, my 1st Sgt, the Sgt Major, the Battalion and Division Cdr, all pretty much the same speech, and I just told them, you know sir, I got jerked off when I came here, I had 2 stripes pulled, yeah I got them back, once someone outside Delta Co figured out my abilities, but this is not the same Army I left in 89. It lacks the respect and discipline that I am used to. Plus I am off to make some real money. They all asked, oh yeah how much is real money, more money than you make in a month ** except the General** I have my discharge, I am not coming back, I am not going Guard again, I have fullfilled my entired contract.
9 months later 9/11 hit, and I had no thoughts of returning.
