I find this Stableford system confusing. Is there any value left in players like Olazabal or Mayfair. How dominating is +21? I know for example that if a golfer was up by 4 strokes over 2nd place and 7 strokes over 3rd place that he'd be almost unbeatable. But I'm not sure if the +21 is that impressive. I guess the longshots to look for are those that can get a couple of eagles along with a low score. Most likely for Eagles IMO would be Els, Olazabal and Singh for anyone within 14?? of the leader.

Any help would be appreciated guys.

Myron,

I always just think every 2 point gap as one shot as it's 2 points for a birdie - eagles are 5 points but you don't get many and that is only 1 pt extra ( 2 x 2 = 4 for 2 birdies). To me Lowery is 2 shots clear of Barlow, 3 Brooks, 3 & a bit Els.... 5 Mayfair, 6 Olazabal, which is not much at 1/2 way.

At bet365 it's 9/4 Lowery, 5/2 Els which looks a bit short to me... but I'm not complaining as yesterday at betfair I got Lowery at 22 and 19 then laid 6.2 & 4.8.... I'm hoping he wins though have made a few quid even if he loses.

Elkington was disappointing as were all my other 'dogs' this week!
