Before you start please read my thread today "Go get'um.I had a great day in terms of winning today,but what I witnessed was atrocious.Nolan Dalla has written some excellent thread's relating to officiating and has been hammered by some for his comments. I for one, back Nolan. Indianapolis, won tonight, and had to beat the Bronco's and the ZEBRA'S in doing so. They failed to see a touchdown that was so obvious,(they did give it to them after replay,but it never should have gone that far).They were called for holding on every kickoff,with the exception of one. They failed to call "ROUGHING THE KICKER"on Denver,as they returned that same kick 60 yards for a subsequent touchdown. They failed to call "late hits" on the Broncos several times.It was a joke. I know they did call Denver for holding, right before halftime, but the Colts fumbled the punt so they got the ball right back anyway.As I said.I made 4 plays on the game,and won three,but that does not change the fact that the officiating stunk. This does lead me to a possible new angle. The Cleveland fan's were screwed in a home game and went ballistic. If the call's made tonight had been AGAINST the home team,well ,who know's. My point is, it's almost impossible to bet a road team, especially a road favorite any more. Sure we all factor in the home field advantage into our handicapping, but so does Las Vegas. The NFL games this year that have been on Primetime TV,have almost all come down to the last drive to determine the game(spead) and the total. Guy's that just cannot happen. The oddsmakers just aren't that good.There job is to put up a number that will hopefully provide bookmakers action on both sides. They may be fortune tellers when it come's to who the majority of the people will bet on, but not how 44 guys are going to play on the football field. Let's get serious. I'm not telling everyone to bet the home team,even though this year you would have made a boatload on the primetime games, I am saying, next time you handicap a game,try and look at the" DUCKING ZERBA " theory. That's what I'm going to start calling it. The way you factor it in is, ask yourself,If I were a ZEBRA and was about to make a call, "How much Ducking am I gonna do to get out of here".
