IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL CAMELOT CUSTOMERS

As many of you know, Camelot Sportsbook has been experiencing severe financial problems in recent weeks. Unfortunately, we are now in a position where Camelot Sportsbook is completely insolvent and will have to close its doors by Friday March 8th. But we can inform you of a possible solution later in this correspondence.

As the Manager of Camelot, I would like to express my sincere sorrow at having to report this news to you, but we find ourselves in this position for several key reasons. First and foremost, we entered into this business undercapitalized and too reliant on a single investor who later pulled out of the deal when news hit the industry of the collapse of Aces Gold.

In addition to being somewhat undercapitalized, we were also too generous with our bonus promotions and reduced juice plans. We spent too much money on advertising, and overall, we made a huge number of mistakes, not the least of which was our inability to properly manage the LARGE volume of betting syndicate and other wiseguy play. Despite the other mistakes made here, Camelot would still be viable if it were not for a group of about 50 players who came from various betting syndicates. These 50 or so players beat Camelot for well over $1 million (USD).

So in summary, Camelot will be closing and all players would be losing their remaining balances. However, those players who are interested do have an option of recovering all or part of their Camelot balance thanks to the intervention of the Number One Sportsbook in the business.

Thanks to an extremely generous offer from Olympic Sportsbook, all Camelot customers will have the following option:

1. You can have an account at Olympic in an amount equal to your current balance at Camelot, provided your account balance at Camelot is less than $2,000 (USD).
2. If you have a balance greater than $2,000 (USD), Olympic will honor your Camelot balance up to the first $2,000 only.
3. If you accept this offer, you agree to roll over your entire balance at least 10 times before taking any payouts.
4. You can sign up for this offer at www.thegreek.com/camelot.asp immediately.
5. Please refrain from calling Olympic Sportsbook about this offer until AFTER 5 P.M. Eastern Time Thursday January 7, 2002. After that, a Customer Service Rep will be able to help you by phone as well, but any calls prior to that could jeopardize your ability to secure your balance, so please wait until AFTER 5 P.M. Eastern Time.

Olympic has received all of our account balances and can verify them, so please be honest when you contact them as they do have the correct information. This provides 80% of our customer base with their entire balance. This incredible offer from Olympic provides a new start at 100% of your balance for nearly all of our customers, and you will not be dealing with a second rate sportsbook. Olympic is the most trusted and most respected name in the business, run by a man whose name has become a symbol for what is right with the offshore industry. At these times where so many sportsbooks are experiencing financial problems, a player could not ask for a better situation than to have their account transferred over to Olympic. We also ask that all players keep in mind the great service that Olympic has provided to the industry and we strongly urge that players maintain their account at Olympic over the long haul.
Olympic can be contacted at 1-888-327-8238 and their website address is www.thegreek.com

Thank you for your time and best of luck with your account at Olympic Sportsbook.

There is a typo in the first message of this thread: instead of January 7th I assume you mean March 7th ... maybe you could confirm this for readers just to make sure.

Just a note about Olympic. They are true to their word. I already have an account with them. I e-mailed them the information about my Camelot account, and in about an hour, the money from Camelot was transfered into my Olympic account. A big THANKS to Olympic!!!

What a disgrace you people are ! You are condoning the fact that Camelot took us for a ride simply because of your link with them. In any First World country Mark Dell would be behind bars right now. He is a phony and a fraud. You should do more homework about the firms you allow to advertise here. I had many times more than the $2000 I got from Olympic. I also am not one of those "wiseguys" that the fraud Dell mentions, I showed a loss betting with Camelot.

I say goodbye to this forum. I have no reason to stay linked to a site that is not accountable to its members. Madjack, stand up and admit that you should have take more care in who you deal with. People make mistakes, but covering them up is not right.

Lastly Mr Dell, the wheel is round. I believe that what you give you get in return. Trust me you rollercoaster ride is just about to begin. The fact that you could send out an email where you blame others for your problems is indicative of the scum you are.

On the course!
efgee.....I'm sad to see you leave over this. Your contributions over the last year will be missed.

But, I am not singing the praises of Mark Del, or Olympic.

Guys, the "anything beats nothing" philosophy is a little overboard, here.

A ten time rollover?

How many of you will have anything left by then?

At least you'll be given the "illusion" of still having an account somewhere, with a 'sound' book.

The fact remains, if you are owed money from a book, and can't get it, they have stolen from you. Mark Del is no "hero" for writing a few emails. Your money went somewhere, people.....wake up.

efgee, since you left this site, i guess you won't be reading this. i hope the door didn't hit you in the ass too hard.

never once did i condone the fact that you were taken for a ride because of my link with them.

never once did i try to cover up the mistake i made when endorsing this book.

i thanked olympic for taking on some of the players. it was a better deal than any other book or investor came up with. at lease some people get something out of this nightmare.

i do the best i can to bring books aboard that i think will honor their commitments to the player.

it's up to YOU to make the final decision to deposit money with any book. go ahead and blame me if that makes you feel better.

if anybody is to blame, it's the lying, cheating, scamming, bullshitters that roam this world, not me!

By surfing the net at the various forums I have noticed a common trait.people blame other people for their mistakes.Whether it is following someone's bet that lost or choosing a bookmaker to use.Blaming Jack or anyone else for Camelot's failure is just ludicrous.in this case the blame should be squarely on the shoulders for the people who ran Camelot or Aces Gold for poor management.Eventually if the Government's on the islands want to prevent these business's from going out of business they should start regulating them. After all it is in these Government's best interests to keep these BM's afloat because it helps their economies by providing jobs, etc.

Madjack, the decision that I took to bet with Camelot was entirely mine, I bet with them before they even appeared here. What I am saying is that the response from this forum has been pretty weak. I believe that Camelot should not be allowed to place any messages on this forum. "Sorry I could not provide a better solution" is all they have to say. The day the money in the bank could no longer cover the customer balances was the day Camelot should have ceased trading and given back what they could.

Mark Dell does not deserve a platform to air his views. It is degrading to see my views in the same forum as his.

Been out of town a few days and 1st now reading this so thought I'd add my couple.
It always amazes me that when some books go down there are are posters with a handful of posts in every forum that lost thousands. If one is financially able to post up that amount I assume he did not just fall off the turnip truck as has done a lot of things right in life including being prudent and resposible for his own actions.
As far as Camelot they were one of my fav books because of their efforts for golf punters and customer service. I'll also go on record as supporting them when starting out as new book but as with any book new or old I rarely leave much over 10 times normal wager in account. I may be a minority but even after all that gone down I appreciated the unique lines Mark put up and while he has without a doubt made some mistakes I firmly believe he feels VERY bad about situation unlike others that grab the money and run.
I appreciate Spiro and Mark working out the deal and while many will whine bout 10 whatever rollover it doesn't even enter equation to me because I have been with Oly since beginning of time and not going anywhere anyway.I am sure that is what Spiro is looking for and not the bonus swapping folks. I have had 2 outs go under and haven't lost a penny due to Olys move and Sportingsbets a couple of years ago.I can't remember however one stock I ever purchased that busted out and another co. came in and gave me any equity in their co.
Admittably I am a small time player and risk exposure is less than mosts but the higher one plays the more prudent they should be and while Jack has NEVER claimed to be a watchdog site there are several that tout that ploy and folks you have to look at the basics.
Books get revenue from players, watchdog sites get revenue from marketing players to books. If you think they can be objectable ask one sometime to name there 3 best books and 3 worst books on their list. You will get a lot of spin but you won't get an answer I guarantee you.

Nice post. I would like to comment on a couple of points.
First I dont think number of post has any relevance. I can only speak for myself, but in general I keep abrest of what is going on but do not feel a need to comment on every post. I do feel it was prudent to post of how i was getting lip service from camelot.
Second you can spin how badly Mr.Dell feels all you want but the fact is he dipped into post up funds and that is theft.
Third i agree totally with making my own decisions and one lesson learned id that I will keep my balances down to a working median.
