Here's what I'm thinking for the Illini game. I always like Illinois giving less than double digits at home, as they are just a completely different team. However, after watching what Tex Tech pulled off last night I'm leary to lay the 7.5 against a team that is fighting for their tourney lives. So, I'm thinking I'll lay 7 (buy half point) and also take the over 133. I foresee a couple different scenarios:
1.) Illinois continues it's home dominance and gets revenge for an earlier loss in a romp; similar to MSU game last week. (Win Illini -7; probably lose over)
2.) Indiana plays Illinois tight the whole way and at least keeps it within the 7; like (70-66). (Hit over, lose Illini -7)
3.) Indiana hangs tough for most of the game, and Illinois pulls away down the stretch; winning like 75-65. (win both)
Illinois averages 78.1 PPG at home, while Indiana gives up 71.7 PPG on the road. There is no way that Indiana will hold Illinois to under 70 in their own building. And if Illinois gets to 70, there is no way you can lose both bets (70-63 would be a push on both).
However, I think Illinois is the overall better team and Indiana is not playing their best baskeball right now. I could very easily envision an easy Illini victory, so IMHO I think making both bets you have a good shot at hitting both and a very small chance of losing both.
Thoughts appreciated.
