Ok I don't watch IRL and have no idea what has been going on the past 2-3 weeks of prac. and qual. but just for fun thought I would start a friendly thread on who you think the winner maybe and why.
I throw out Danica @ +900
Why: IRL has been losing face for the past few years. Yes they got hot when Danica stepped in but then it has died again. So what better to put it back on the map then the hot female winning? Then they can hype up that win for all season and maybe get their ratings up.
What channel are they on now??????:mj07:

(Note: I have no intensions of placing this bet but thought we could have some fun.)
P.S Maybe I been reading to many of TBB threads.:mj07:

Danica odds are WAY TOO LOW mainly because of her profile and not her car.
She was 23rd in practice today.
Helio was fastest again in practice and will probably win it.
Want a good longshot:
Will Power(33-1) 2nd fastest behind Helio in practice today by less than a tenth of a second.
He also starts on the third row.
I will post the practice times from the past thus far.
Also like BRISCOE ALOT.

Will have plays soon.

Here are my plays:

Tony Kanaan(-110) over Danica for 220 wins 200. --- Kanaan practice ranks last 4 practices:15,9,5,5 fastest. Danica was 20th,13,20,23.

Ryan Briscoe(-100) over Dario Franchitti for 100 win 100. ---Wow,wrong guy favored. Briscoe last 5 practice speed charts was 5th,3rd,5th,1st,2nd. Dario was 6th,13,6,4,6.

TO WIN:
Briscoe(6-1) for 50
Wheldon(18-1) for 20
Power(33-1) for 10

Adding:
Dixon(5-1) for 40 As I really think he is going to be there.
120 in win plays minimum win 200

Yeah no value in Helio when there are 3 or 4 guys will equal cars and better odds.
I really like Briscoe though and think it is his race to lose.

Well she has run well so far this season on the grand prix and 1.5 mile track. I think she was 5th at the 300 and ran top 5 in one of the 2 grand prix races and had an accident in the other.
Based on her practice runs though it doesn't seem like she should be 9-1.
Dan Wheldon(former Indy 500 champ) had better practices and is 18-1???
Picking the winner in the Indy 500 is one of the harder things to do.
The slightest bit of damage and the car is done.
She is as good a play as anyone but not feeling those odds for a play.
Best odds out there have to be Wheldon.
I would say one of these three are the winners though:
Scott Dixon
Ryan Briscoe
Helio Castroneves

It is just a matter of which one you choose because they all have low odds.
I picked Briscoe although I am starting to think I should have picked Dixon.

Danica qualified 10th and had good early practices and bad late practices so who knows with her?
I am a fan of Kanaan anyway so playing him over Danica was an easy choice on top of the practice runs. Oh and he is a much better driver.

Adding yet another parlay(final Indy play):

PARLAY
Dixon over Helio
Wheldon over Paul Tracey
Briscoe over Franchitti
50 wins 280

I got way to many plays out there right.
NBA,Indy,Nascar,UFC,Dream. Playing all on house money this week(thanks to Nuggets/Magic, and nascar qualify) though so that helps.
Those 3 alone have me at +900 on the week.

Odds are stacked against last year's winner Scott Dixon as Indy 500 has only had a repeat winner 5 times in its history dating back to 1911 only twice in last 55 years.
Helio('01/'02)
Al Unser('70/'71)
Vukovich('53/'54)
Rose('47/'48)
Shaw('39/'40)

kegray1--Thanks for your picks.

FWIW I also went with Power over Wilson
and Doombos over Hunter Reay.

Good Luck!
