Skimming through the games and came across this to possibly make the Lions the best play on the board this week!! Already losing to the Packers last week puts them at 0-1 in the division. This week right away another division game vs the Bears! Read the Lions don't have another division game until NOVEMBER 6th!!! That's 5 weeks!! To say that they won't be absolutely 100% FOCUSED and READY for this game may be an understatement!! Lions are a decent team it looks like this season and I can pretty much guarantee their coaching staff is preparing this team to the max to not start 0-2 in the division!! Doesn't hurt the Bears are flat AWFUL and full of injuries. I'm still looking into the games and not making this an official play yet, but this looks very, very, very, very good that Detroit is going to win this game and you will get a team very focused on your side!!

You had me at the Bears.

Lions by double digits.

LOL!! I know the Bears are awful, but sometimes even the shitty teams have good weeks. It's not that easy all the time, but yea this spot for the Lions looks mighty nice! I compare teams who are 0-1 desperately don't want to go 0-2 as your % for making the playoffs dropped significantly. Same for division games....starting 0-2 is bad bad bad. If this was the Bears in this spot I probably wouldn't be as interested as they may not even win a division game, but the Lions are actually pretty good. Falcons were in a similar situation Monday night and you can tell right off the bat they were ready to roll!!

Rams at home week 2 also.....

So Cal
Fishy spread.
Bears get blown out twice on prime time TV yet are only 3 dogs to a Lions team that has flashed some explosiveness VS Indy .
IMO lines makers in Vegas could of easily made this Lions-6 or -7 and still would of had all the action on the lions.

As a long-suffering Bears fan, I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.

I don't really see any value in the "I don't want to go 0-2 in the division" angle. The Lions are quite a bit worse than both the Packers and Vikes, and I think they know it. They're not winning the division. Maybe they make a run at the wild card, but in that case division record is meaningless. I don't think the Falcons buried the Saints because they were really motivated to not go 0-2 - I think they buried the Saints because the Saints are awful. Similarly, I don't really see how not playing another division game for 5 weeks is somehow additional motivation. You still play the same number of games in the division as always - so other than maybe having the good fortune to play a team you're trying to catch in the last 2-3 weeks of the season, who cares how those games are spread out?

I also wouldn't call the line fishy. Here are the scores the last 4 years between these teams in Chicago:

2015: 34-30 (Lions)
2014: 20-14 (Lions)
2013: 21-19 (Lions)
2012: 20-14 (Bears)

All within a TD. The Lions very rarely win big in Chicago.

All that being said - I don't disagree with the play at all. This may be the worst Bears team I've ever seen - and I've seen some terrible ones. They were one of those "we could go 8-8 if everything breaks our way" teams headed into the season except - while things have certainly broken - they have most definitely not broken their way. They will probably end up 4-12 but I couldn't for the life of me tell you who they'll actually beat.

So - all in all - if you want to bet the Lions do so because the Bears are awful. Not because of some perceived additional motivation thanks to a quirk in the schedule.

I agree with most of this however, with this line at where it is and not really moving the sharps are on the Bears. This will be High Scoring for sure no defense on either side the over would be the play but.......my gut is Stafford historically makes really stupid mistakes late in games and it will rear up again here......Bears could win this game outright

I just feel it will be a track meet and a Stafford Pick 6 will cost them

I hear you about the line, but you gotta get that "old" Stafford out of your head......under Jim Bob Cooter Stafford is 26TD's and 4 INTS dating back to last season! Complete different animal Cooter sets him up for much better success with the play calls. Of course he could throw a pick 6, but just saying he is playing at a very high level right now under this guy
