So I rolled into LV today for a work trip and checked into the Planet Hollywood. Work is picking up the tab on this, not my own wallet.
Walked in my room - the bed was caved in. Literally, it looked like two big heffers had laid in the middle of the bed for a week and the thing is caved in.
Go back down to desk, ask for help.
They said they'd get up there and look at it a bit later and give me a new room or a new bed.
I leave for a bit to deal with work stuff.
Come back to my room 2 hours later --> there's two people in my room hauling a new bedframe, box spring and mattress in to set up.
I talk with them for a few minutes, and leave so they can finish their job.
Go back up 1 hour later and walked into disaster-ville. The two people were gone, but it looks like it must have been quitting time about midway through because the pillows were piled up in the corner on the floor, the mattress was half off the box spring, the bedsheets were in a big pile on the foot of the bed, and the old bed frame, had some pieces left laying on the floor.
There's a cheap pair of wire framed glasses sitting on my nightstand, and my own glasses... are gone.
Called security, called the housekeeping manager, they came up and were a bit red-faced at the way the room was left and didn't know what to do about the glasses. (They weren't cheap either).
So I think the housekeeping team must have picked up my glasses by mistake when they left the room. They tried calling (they had gone home already) and I guess they say they don't have my pair of glasses.
So now, I have to assume they somehow threw my glasses out with the trash.
I'm here for work, giving a presentation with a pretty big slide deck that goes with it. Without my glasses, i can't see shit.
Here for 3 days/2 nights. With no glasses, this trip is pretty much a bust.
So I ask for your input, when their daytime manager comes to talk to me tomorrow morning, what do I ask for in terms of comp?
$500 for the glasses is obvious, but do I push for 2 free nights in the future? Even more?
