Canadian waters(summertime)
I've been fishing Lake Minnitaki in Northern Ontario since 1983. The lake is a walleye factory!! (this is not to be perceived as a "lock" though :) ) Last summer's weather patterns were brutal and fishing was slow for the novice. The minnow population in the lake never came in to the shallows to reproduce and left the walleyes scattered about the lake. Only means that this year there should be a lot of hungry walleyes roaming for some tasty pickns'. Those of us that changed our fishing tactics still caught plenty but the majority of those too were released for this year's venture :)

I contacted the owner of the resort for any openings this summer for the VIP cabin (accommodates 8-10, maybe 12 fisherman). Much to my amazement he just responded with openings the week of July 9-16 and July 16-23. About knocked me down like I was a fan at a Piston game. Getting a weeks stay here is harder than getting a season ticket to the Packers.

Thought it might be a great way for some of us to get together for a great time. Those of us that are unable to attend the Super Bowl Party in Vegas would have an opportunity to meet and share some of the MadJack love. Those Super Bowl Partygoers join us and rub it in on what a great party we missed out on --- because you know all the "bs" fisherman sling out there will be plenty cluttering up the site when we get back :moon:

Let me know if you're interested. The camp is @150 miles north of International Falls. Accommodations once you're at the resort for the week would run @ $600 U.S. That would include the cabin (very nice, 4bedroom - 8 single beds, 2 bathrooms), boat, motor and gas. Travel expenses(gas) and food would be each individual's responsibility.

I will post more info if there's an interest. Bohawk, Watrdogg, and Clem, I'll be waiting for your response as well as I hope many others :)

Don't know why I can't edit out all the garble about the cabin. It keeps coming up with that computer lingo. Just says there's more in the cabin for sleeping arrangements besides the 8 single beds //rollaways, futons, and a hide-a-bed

Actually I have season tickets for the bears, and had you contacted me sooner I could have sold them to you. I am going to be in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl so I just sold them on Stub Hub.

stub hub is a place for season ticket holders to sell thier tickets. I don't know how it's legal to sell them for above face value, but that's what I have done. The link is just stubhub.com, they have all kinds of tickets available.

I'll try not to, and if you ever want to go to a bears game in the future let me know and I will see what I can do.

Let's get this party started!!!

If you're a good fisherman, average, or a novice - you will enjoy this lake. Plus if you're there that first week you will get "expert" advice, tips, and guiding (not everyday, as I will be in a cabin with my family). Great walleyes, smallies, and northerns to be had. I will be more than happy to put you on some great spots!!

There are the two weeks still available. Choose one or the other, or both if you'd like. I will be at the resort from July 2-16. If any MJ'ers make it the week of July 16-23, I may be able to extend my two weeks for a couple days to get you set up.

The cabins are great. Each has comfortable sleeping arrangements, nice kitchen/eating area, microwave, outdoor grills, TV/VCR (I bring lots of tapes just in case the weather's bad/ thinking of the family of course). You will not be disappointed.

There is a great musky/smallmouth lake @6miles down the road. The camp will take the boats over there for you if you want to try this action. (I rarely go there because there are so many reefs and I have my own boat to worry about. I do have a great marked map of the lake with some good fishing spots. Two of my friends went over there last summer, one of them caught a 43" northern and the other a 38" musky. They also caught @30smallies between 17-19") I may join them this year (July 2-9) and get some good scouting done.

Dogfish -- I have never had any trouble at the border, but they certainly can be pricks! I've heard countless stories too. I do know, that they run the license plate number of the vehicle and if the registered driver has had any legal issues they can be detained with the immigration officer. If you've ever had a felony forget about trying to get across (not referring to you dogfish :)) Records with misdemeanors of weed or even DIU's can cause detainment. I would suggest if anyone has anything on a court record to get it cleared with customs before attempting to cross. I believe they check everything going back for 10 years.

So come on MJ'ers. Get on board. Join us for some fun. Suppose there might even be some cards and drinking goin on :)

These open dates won't last long. When the owner goes to the winter outdooor shows they will be snatched up quickly.

That's some scary chit (no pun intended) Anal search :scared Must have thought they were confiscating some new outlawed lure on the market. I can't believe the arrogance of these fuxin Canadians. They want the tourism and then put us through this BS. They have no trouble letting deserters or terrorists enter their country but then harrass those that can boost their economy. If it wasn't for the great fishing they's be in a world of hurt :)

From Fort Frances you head east to 502 (this is the part of the drive you usually let the rookies or unsuspecting buddies drive. Hard not to fall asleep with this boring stretch) When you get to Dryden you go east to #17. I believe you go west out of Dryden to your area.

And speaking of boring. WR, I almost chit when I saw you responded. Thought you were interested :scared I have two words for you. STAY AWAY!!!! Go fish for your muskies over there. I'm sure as great as you are in everything you'd have this lake fished out and spoil it for the rest of us. You upset more people with your posts filled with BS and self promotion. (ever work as a border guard?) Hard to read your posts without getting nauseated Could not ever begin to imagine how hard it would be to try to live with you for a week :moon: Afraid we'd have everyone lose interest or decline if they knew you were coming. Every summer we run into a few buttholes out on the water. Don't need to add anymore :142lmao: And then if there were a poker game at night..........Don't really think we could handle you playing nude. :scared
