I use custom power ratings to handicap the NFL. They use 13 catagories -- most of which are unnoticed stats like penalties, kickoff returns, punt returns, turnovers and sacks.

IN ALL 13 STATS THAT I TRACK - THE JETS RATE BETTER THAN THE RAIDERS!!

HOLY SCHNIPES!!

I don't ever remember seeing that happen before.

If you throw in the QB edge for the Jets and the internal problems for the Raiders, I'd say JETS-3 is the play.

here is the breakdown if anybody wants to see...

OFFENSE
Rushing attempts per game
Jets 29th
Oak 32st

Pass completion %
Jets 9th
Oak 27th

Sacks allowed
Jets 6th
Oak 23rd

Penalties (offensive)
Jets 1st
Oak 32rd

Punt returns
Jets 4th
Oak 13th

Kickoff returns
Jets 3rd
Oak 17th

Turnovers (total)
Jets 13th
Oak 15th

DEFENSE
20+ runs allowed
Jets 23rd
Oak 25th

Yards per pass
Jets 16th
Oak 20th

Sacks
Jets 1st
Oak 27th

Penalties (defensive)
Jets 2nd
Oak 22nd

Punt returns
Jets 17th
Oak 29th

Kickoff returns
Jets 19th
Oak 31st

IF YOU'RE BETTING THE RAIDERS, I WOULD SUGGEST RECONSIDERING:eek:

I believe you didn't have to do all that research, Raiders could not beat that High School team from California that has won 150 some games in a row. J E T S should spank!

Another caveat to Raiders backers:
Rob Johnson is an ankle injury away.
T. Martin is 2 ankle injuries away

True GENO...think of it. Why would ANYBODY bet Oakland? Shouldn't this line have shot up to -4 or higher by now? A team that hasn't covered a spread all year. Both wins were at home, by 3 pts (one took OT!) over weak opponents. Rob Johnson scares the hell out of me. Just want you want...a blind, immobile, injury-prone QB, who's had 2 days to learn the playbook, behind a line that can't block, on a team that can't run. Sheesh.

On the other hand, it doesn't seem right that a 2-6 team can be laying a FG on the road.
