At face value, your commentary is fair in my opinion. It is interesting that so many dems voted for this. As it states in the article, the Mass. bill doesn't go as far as the Wisconsin bill, and we really don't have anything to go on to compare the two - unless I'm missing something. With such broad dem approval, I'd guess it is quite different, but that's just a guess.

My main issue with the Walker/Wisconsin bill was the way it was explained and what had happened previous to the bill - with the tax cuts that helped cause the state budget problems that he used as his battle cry for going after teachers and other workers. I don't see anything to show this happened in Mass.

I think I made my position quite clear on the Wisconsin "Budget Reform" bill which magically became a "Non-Budget" bill in order to bust the public unions. I'm 100% opposed to ANY measure in ANY state that strips middle-class workers of their collective bargainning rights. There's no gray area on this issue.
