Don't often post on football as any relevant info tends to come through late , but one game this week has thrown up a betting opportunity for anyone interested . The friendly between Greece and the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday is the match of interest.

Ireland squad has been depleted through injury and withdrawals - they are missing (amongst others) both Keanes, Harte, Carr, Morrison, Kennedy, Kelly, Kinsella, Kilbane, Duff, O'Brien and Connolly. This accounts for about half of their usual first team + almost all of the attacking players. The manager (stand-in as McCarthys gone) has said that Doherty (a Spurs defender/utility player) and Crowe (of Bohemians - the first Irish based player to play for 16yrs!!! ) will start upfront. Ireland also had to cancel their first training session when only 6 players, including 3 goalkeepers turned up, because of playing commitments on Sunday.

Greece not only have home advantage, but an almost full strength squad (Dellas of Roma the only notable withdrawal).

The price has been collapsing all day over here - around Even money now, but a bit of global shopping, or in the UK go to a shop where they're stuck with the coupon prices, should find you some 5/4 or 6/4.

The only downside is that it's a friendly + it's difficult to know how the Greeks will approach it, but they've not been too hot recently + I'd hope the opportunity to hammer a higher rated country will get their juices flowing.
I'd be very interested if Apollon or any of our other Greek friends have any views.. or anyone else for that matter
:D

Good luck
