purdue is giving 10 points to iowa at home. does anyone recall an unranked team giving 10 to a ranked team? that has to bve a first. opened at -8 and has moved to 10 with around 70% of the action on iowa. hawkeye, reddsfan i want to pull the trigger on purdue but i need some of your insight first.

Loop, looks too good to be true with Iowa plus 10. I'll stay away. I've got NC St game on my mind. I know pack have not done well on road ATS recent years, but this sure looks like mismatch on paper as UM is undermanned and struggling to find identity. I like Pack. Any thoughts? Thank you Loop.
hey diz, if i bet that game it would be on purdue. i think iowa might be without one of their starters, still looking for confirmation. as for the pack, yes i threw down a modest bet on them. not sure its justified making them a favorite @ miami, but i just have a lot of faith in keatts and his ability to coach in close games.

Part of the reason for the big line and movement higher is the pre-game ceremony for Tyler Trent, the young man who died at age 20 from cancer.
Won?t go into detail here? you can google the story if you aren?t up on it.
Emotionally the Purdue team will want to play well in Tyler?s memory and I believe they will.
I?m grabbing the points because I think the line has moved in Iowa?s favor only because of this ceremony and not because of any talent reason.
It?s most likely a loser playing Iowa in this game with the environment they will be dealing with but I?m not laying 10 with the boilers here.

the most telling stat i've seen for the state/miami game is that the canes are currently ranked #340 in sub minutes, meaning their starters play virtually the entire game. that's going to be a problem against the pack, who run ten guys who all score and no one will get more than 25-25 minutes. keatts' style is pretty simple - you play all out all the time or someone takes your place. there's just not much drop off. that's gonna be rough on a five man squad. i think you will see that canes wear down in the second half.

reddsfan, i agree with you, not pulling the trigger unless i confirm garza is out. i think that will be a significant loss vs purdue.
