Outright plays (total stakes per play: 1.5pts)

Michael Campbell to win 33/1 e.w. available generally
The leader by three shots with one round to play last week, maybe there are grounds for expecting an adverse reaction this week, but it was not a bad performance by Cambo on Sunday rather that he struggled to hole anything on the front nine and his lead was overturned. He still only finished one shot out of the playoff. So given that he finished 3rd in his penultimate event before last week's event and he won this event in 2003 and the European Open at The K Club, Dublin in 2002, he doesn't warrant 33s this week.

Henrik Stenson to win 40/1 e.w. @ Stan James, William Hill, UKBetting and Totalbet
Stenson is another in much better form than his odds suggest. He had finished in the top-3 in three of his last four starts before last week's event and recovered well from a 77 that saw him lie in 113rd position after the first round last week to finish 31st. His form in Ireland is also supportive for a player who has made significant progress over the course of the last year: he was well in contention at the European Open until a closing 76 and he was ranked inside the top-20 after every round of this event.

Simon Khan to finish in the top-five 10/1 @ Expekt
After his frustrating final round performance in the Italian Open two weeks ago, it was a surprise to see him finish as high as 5th last week. So with finishes of 8th, 6th and 5th in his last three events, there is a strong case for Khan in terms of form. His form in Ireland may be indifferent apart from a good showing in this event two years ago, but he has never approached this event in this vein of form. Better with the place-only market after the final hole calamity in Italy!

Will add reasons later ;)

Andrew McLardy @ 150/1 Ladbrokes.
Martin Lafeber @ 80/1 Blue Sq

Got a few others to wade through - Howell, Campbell, Stenson, Soren Hansen and Jacquelin. Tough call this week in Europe - will prob play 2 form the other 5.

just liked the prices on the above 2 for players who have been in decent form this year..

OUTRIGHTS:

Trevor Immelman(40/1) e.w. @ GolfingGods
- - I have always looked in Trevor's direction when solid driving and challenging approaches from 130-230 yards are on display . . . "popping early" has been a regular theme in 2005 (primarily in America), and with Wentworth on his radar in 2004, "popping early" is exactly what Trevor was dialed into in this spot . . . putting issues had me keeping my distance most of last year, but his form has been exceptional or his class is emerging.

Paul Lawrie(150/1) e.w. @ 5dimes
- - Looking to back Lawrie while navigating prevalent slopes and tilts, and avoiding Lawrie on a flat track like Forest of Arden, are opposite sides of the same coin . . . Lawrie in particular, and emerging golfers off a missed cut in general, can offer some solid value in tough weather conditions.

Michael Campbell(33/1) e.w. @ Golfing Gods & 5dimes
- - My eyes were rolling last Saturday over Campbell's comments, ?I consider myself a pretty good front runner. I think the boys chasing me know that as well.? . . . A Top 15 finish and a finish out of the money places are my truest expectations for this week, but I can't doubt the threat of more.

Peter Lawrie(150/1) e.w. @ Bet365
- - Seems very overlooked among the home threats.

Steve Webster(40/1) e.w. @ Bet365

- - Thanks for the ride!

Soren Hansen(66/1) e.w @ GolfingGods
- - Too many plays for a venue I haven't seen, but the written takes on the Montgomerie team design have been consistent and the visuals encouraging . . . Soren answering with another strong performance seems a significant reversal from the norm, so a bit of optimism for that possibility here has to be the essence of the play.

FINAL RESULT: 0-3; -4.50pts

Campbell mc
Stenson 43rd
Khan 49th

Stenson remains a frustrating player. He really does have the game to be one of Europe's best players and this week is a good example. He ranked 1st in driving distance, 2nd in driving accuracy, 1st in greens in regulation, but 43rd on the leaderboard. No guesses where he needs to spend more time practising!

European Tour ytd: 5-18; -16.43pts
