Outright plays (total stakes per play: 1.5pts)
Michael Campbell to win 33/1 e.w. available generally
The leader by three shots with one round to play last week, maybe there are grounds for expecting an adverse reaction this week, but it was not a bad performance by Cambo on Sunday rather that he struggled to hole anything on the front nine and his lead was overturned. He still only finished one shot out of the playoff. So given that he finished 3rd in his penultimate event before last week's event and he won this event in 2003 and the European Open at The K Club, Dublin in 2002, he doesn't warrant 33s this week.
Henrik Stenson to win 40/1 e.w. @ Stan James, William Hill, UKBetting and Totalbet
Stenson is another in much better form than his odds suggest. He had finished in the top-3 in three of his last four starts before last week's event and recovered well from a 77 that saw him lie in 113rd position after the first round last week to finish 31st. His form in Ireland is also supportive for a player who has made significant progress over the course of the last year: he was well in contention at the European Open until a closing 76 and he was ranked inside the top-20 after every round of this event.
Simon Khan to finish in the top-five 10/1 @ Expekt
After his frustrating final round performance in the Italian Open two weeks ago, it was a surprise to see him finish as high as 5th last week. So with finishes of 8th, 6th and 5th in his last three events, there is a strong case for Khan in terms of form. His form in Ireland may be indifferent apart from a good showing in this event two years ago, but he has never approached this event in this vein of form. Better with the place-only market after the final hole calamity in Italy!
