Round 1 play (2pts):

Matthew Fitzpatrick to beat Darren Fichardt +100 @ 5Dimes and Bet365
Opposing Fichardt given his record in Ireland (both the Republic and Northern Ireland) - he has missed each of his last ten cuts ... the only time since the 2003 Irish Open that he has reached the weekend in Ireland was in the no-cut WGC-American Express Championship in 2044 when he finished ahead of just six players. Last week Fitzpatrick became the first player since Bobby Jones to hold low amateur medals for the US Open and the Open at same time and there is a danger of letdown in this week's event, particularly as it is his first event as a professional, but I think that change is rather slim. He has shown that he has the game to suit any course and to say that he is great prospect is a huge understatement. Against Fichardt in this event, I don't see how he can be the underdog.

[unofficial rd1 system plays: Cabrera-Bello tb Quiros -115; Fleetwood tb Grace -115]

Round 2 play (2pts):

Danny Willett to beat Anders Hansen +100 @ Stan James
96 places between these two players on the leaderboard, but Willett played much better than his current position, ranking 7th in Total Driving and missing just five greens in regulation today. It has been nine months since he missed a cut, whereas the last time that Hansen finished rd1 inside the top-10 (2013 Open de France), he then shot 78-75-70 to finish 38th.

Round 3 play (2pts):

Graeme McDowell to beat Mikko Ilonen -175 @ Stan James
Opposing Ilonen who takes a two-shot lead into the weekend, but there will be extra pressure upon him with McDowell playing in the group in front. He has led after 36 holes on four previous occasions and shot 73-75-71-73 on those four occasions so his record from this position is not good historically and given that he has been in this position just once in the last seven years, there is also contention rust to consider. As a player ranked in the top-25 in the World Rankings, McDowell dominates this matchup's h2h stats as expected and, as the bookies' odds also predict, he should take over from Ilonen tomorrow.

[unofficial rd3 system plays: Wattel tb Rock -120; Molinari tb Stal +110; Wood tb Hoey -120; Casey tb Willett -120]
