when they narrow the list down to the people they are thinking about inducting, they look for reasons not to put people in... I think Irvin belongs in, but he won't go in this year cause of the latest episode and a somewhat strong class....

any other thoughts??

I think its BS that they just don't worry about what they achieved on the field.

Irvin already said on NFL Countdown that it "was my friend's crackpipe that I forgot he left in my car". That should clear everything up between him and the voters for the Hall.

In denial,

to clarify a little bit, the "pipe" was found along with empty marijuana baggies. IMHO there's a pretty BIG difference between smokin the CRACK and smokin the REEFER!!! Also didn't #88 like to but it up his nose and not in his lungs?

But hey, whatever the pipe was used for, it doesn't matter cuz it didn't belong to him,, right?
SURE!!!

nowhere near the offender lt was, put him in for what he accomplished on the field, this incident is way overblown

the big 3 of the dallas dynasty should all probably be in at some point. no doubt irvin's off-field stuff hurts his chances though.

Give me a f@#%in break! :mj11: :mj11: :mj11: about it anyway, we have seen numbers of players get caught with drugs before and still get in virtually little or no trouble. The same should go for Michael Irvin, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

:mj03:  insert "Lawrence Taylor" example here.

How people forget how dominat that Cowboys team was... They should have won four superbowls in a row if they didn't turn the ball over three times in the first couple of minutes against the 49ers, and still almost won the game.

Irvin was the go to receiver on those teams, and a true leader. His off the field problems have no bearing on his play. Irvin deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
