Is ANYONE beating College Hoops right now?? Please speak up!

I'm not meaning this to be a slam, but I check most posts in this forum, and I'd find it hard to believe if there are many cappers hitting break even in College Hoops right now. As mentioned, there have soooo many close games, the numbers have been real tight in most cases that a basket swings the winner one way or the other. Too many games are within four or five, and I have an account that lets me play five pt teasers in baskets, even money and I can't win!!

It's maddening!! If I tease the favorite down, it loses outright or by one (Thank You NOTRE DAME) or if I tease a pickem game on the home team, I lose by 6 or 7! (Thank you also Mr George go lay yourself in MASONry!) I don't do college hoops on my own as I find it way too time consuming, and I'd rather concentrate on the NFL and NBA. BUT, I like to play the games and watch, but it's time to stop for now I guess. I've tried tailing some of the best I know, and it doesn't seem to matter, no one seems to have a handle on this College Hoops season yet.

Been real tough so far. I'm a little up (if you go back and look at all my posts I'd be way down, but that is just what my computer was spitting out and I wasn't playing those). But I feel good about the upcoming weeks. If you look at today's card, there were alot of games, but there were also alot of Div 1 games that didn't have lines. If you go beyond the big TV games, there is usually a reason that they post a line on some games and not others. Like today, Fla. ST and New Mexico had lines (nice paydays for the books), but Xavier and Cinci didn't. And more so than any other sport, games that look to good to be true usually are. I need to be beaten for betting on Notre Dame today. I seriously think I could make money, by just doing my handicapping by hand looking at a teams schedules and betting the exact opposite of what I come up with. Either way stay far far away from teasers in college basketball. Absolute suicide. But I always felt like I could beat college football (not having a good year this year, but usually do), but this is the first year I feel like I have an advantage at college baskets.

Have had decent luck with college hoops this year. Just focusing on the board teams of interest to Buffalo,Cleveland, and Pittsburgh which are all 90 minutes from my locale. Don`t have the time or inclination to cap the whole board. Seem to have nice feel for teams I am following now. Looking forward to full blown conference play in January. Just food for thought I`m sure you`ll be back on track soon. GL

In response to your querry, I have noticed that dogs between 8 - 15 pts seem to have an edge, but I don't have the exact numbers. Also, home favs with a -7 or less line seem to be doing alright ( but I don't bet favs unless they are -7 or less so I am a bad source for that)

My method:
1) I use sagarian ratings look and compare overall rank and schedule rank.
2) I compare them using the 3.61, 3.69, etc. home advantage.
3) I create a line with them and use them against the vegas line if the margin is 7pts or more I circle the game and dig deeper.
4) I then compare the fg% of each matchup against the other team's defensive fg%. I do this for 3pt% vs 3pt def%, team rebounding vs the other team's rebounding % margin.
5) Finally, I look at Ft% especially if I like a road team because a home team usually gets more Ft attemps than their oppenent.
6) Off of today's card, I generated 4 games worth betting.

It's not a perfect method, but I have been doing alright, but I usually don't post (although I didn't comment on FLETCHER's UNR play tonight because I it was a play under this method and while I hit it @ -7 and won, they could have easily won by 15+ pts instead of 9) because I see too much back-stabbing for my skin.

Finally, if non-conference is breaking people, wait until the regular season starts; the match-ups will be more manageable if you cap only specific conferences.

Anyway, I hope this helps, but not a bad start so far this season if you do your homework and limit your plays.

jderrida If you believe in your work and come up with 3 or 4 games a day. You place them in here. Only a couple of ding dongs throw shit around in here. We shout them down and with some luck they leave till the next one shows up. But you can help some folks with what your doing. There are many here that need that help. I know it sounds like they all are winning. Bull Shit more then 80% are loosing. If it was not for Football and Formula 1 and Nascar thks 1837. I would be loosing. Buckets so far college is nasty real nasty. NBA up just alittle. So place wht you got I for one will look at it close. As you can see I believe many could use some new solid ideas. You have agreat plan.

I will share on next saturday's card as I have already begun sorting games and looking at the numbers and percentages. My method isn't 100%, but I try to grind-out profit each week and re-circulate my profit back into circulation the next week. Moreover, picking games consistently is hard and requires homework, but college hoops is probably the best sport to make money on in the long run. Again, I be back and post early on Sat and see if I can help.

I know we'll all be fine later on, but this is NOT the time to be slumping with CHRISTMAS around the corner... I'm probably dropping COLLEGE HOOPS til after the NEW YEAR. May tail some top plays from time to time, and STARVING, keep up that good work on the local teams!!

During the week i have not been doing to bad, especially with the Huge picks. But the last 2 Saturdays--i got crushed. Last Sat. i was 2-8--and yesterday i was---3-7---I may stop on Sat.---i believe there are too many games and not enough time to Research and approach them the same way on the weekdays. I'm sure someone will get hot and get something going.

Agreed. I tried coatailing or trying to cap myself. Lost eather way. Read DJV's post about know who to follow and stick to one capper but can't find a consistant winner.

Posted 5 games last wk. went 4-1.Didn`t get any replies to my posts except the one I made. Also don`t really like posting because feel guys like fletch, IE, hoops ect are much more knowledgeable.My system is similar to jderridas .Use Sagarin,last yr. scores,differance in power ratings. from last yr to this yr.However, on home court adv.think Sag is to generic eg. 3.66 for all HC`s.So i add in Gold Sheet`s ratings (Cincinnati`s HC is 7pts as opposed to Loyola-Marymnt`s 2pts).Also always on lookout for late info from hometown papers. IE is the MAN for that. I`m alittle ahead so far but it`s tough&takes alot of time& work. I`m not in it to make a killing. That way I don`t killed too. GL

Before last week I was close to 60% and up 10 units. I made some big plays on some real losers like Fresno State (vs Gonzaga) last week.

FWIW a couple of my friends who are sportsbook operators say that college hoops have been very good to them so far.
