I've been around for a few years, but I rarely post. After reading this topic, I felt I had to toss in two cents.
I coat-tail. You're darn right. Madjack's is a quality site and offers alot of info that would take me hours to put together. I figure, "why waste 3 hours on a Friday night when I can get all the info in a one-stop-shop?" I follow the hot cappers. I keep my personal log of how the consistent posters here do. I may follow Volfan for a couple of weeks, then jump on Nolan, then swing to Fletcher. Heck, I've been known to play all cappers "top" plays. Now sure, I could research and get my own plays, but why do extra work. I play games to win money, plain and simple. My capping cost me thousands over the years, but with Madjack's I can turn a profit most seasons and have a lot more fun.
Now, I must admit I was shocked and disappointed when I saw the "pay-for-picks" Jack had added to the site. Most of the biggest fights on the forum were the result of folks arguing about pay picks. It seemed strange that the same people that violently opposed paying for picks, were now charging.
I think the reaction of people in this forum was completely ridiculous. To personally attack other members of this forum is unacceptable. You can't complain when something that was FREE is taken away. That's the bottom line, look at it like the 0% interest period on credit running out. If you want to keep getting the info Jack has to offer, you gotta pay. So Jack went to a pay-for-picks forum for some cappers (and if it were successful others would have surely joined in). These people are looking to make business decisions. They (Jack and the pay cappers) did what seemed right.
Then Jack made a tough decision and dropped the pay stuff. I was impressed. Financial decisions generally carry more weight than popular decisions, but not in this case. I never "blamed" anyone for going pay, I just thought a good thing was over. Then, lo-and-behold, it was resurected.
Thanks Jack, for using the philosophy that made this forum great. If some folks want to charge for picks, great for them and best-o-luck to their clients. I for one bought in hook-line-and-sinker to the free idea, and this site is evidence that it works. Good luck all...
