Before the Cubs-Astros game began on ESPN, they were showing ESPN News & the host said pretty much stick a fork in the Mets for the season with their injury problems including Piazza who according to Valentine will be out for an unknown amount of time but he might not go on the DL.

From what I have heard all day he is out until the weekend minimum. They play well with the backup catcher though. I refuse play Mets anymore this season though. They are flat as a pancake most nights.

Piazza is even listed as "out" for Thursday's morning game. Those that love the Pads tread lightly - 18-40 on the road. However, Lawrence is a gamer and things seem to be falling apart for the Mets. Just a heads up.

There's several players that his Leiter well:

Through 1998:

Gant .636 (7 for 11)
Nevin .353 (6 for 17)
Hubbard .625 (5 for 8)
Trammell .286 (2 for 7)

Kotsay hit him well also.....but there are still several others that have shown they can hit him...just don't have many at bats like the above mentioned do.

Klesko was only 1 for 8 vs Leiter
