Locks

There are no locks in Football Joey especially with Quincy Carter at qb. I like the pick myself but don't bet your whole bankroll on it.

Oh don't worry buddy, I'm not even sure if I'm gonna take the game. I hate betting on other people's locks (unless it's someone proven like Raymond or Fletcher) If I take the game it will be in a small parlay.

If you went against "lock" posts every time you saw them, you could probably retire in a years' time.:D

I might sound like a dickhead when I say this, but I am one of those who search the forum for this type of stuff. When I find a "square" with his paycheck on team A, I at least have a double unit on team B.

Produces better than 70% winners.

Cryboy what are you trying to say and who are you attempting to insult. Please be more specific.

CryBoy, how about coming out with some picks of your own instead of implying people are 'squares' and such. Pick a game, and put your money where that mouth of yours is! Hah!

I'm never here to insult anyone. MJ has been good to me. We all come to this site for one reason, and that's to make money. The way we go about it varies greatly. I buy a lot into Nolan Dalla's different angles of handicapping, one of which is to go against public perception. Point in case is the Monday night game. I, being one of the squares, initially had a unit on the Bears. But after browsing through the message forum and seeing that a great number of cappers were also on Chicago, I bought my bet back. Another example was the "throw-down" game Scott in Atlanta picked a couple of weeks back. I thanked him for the post in his thread. Of course, I went the other way. Again, I don?t mean to insult anyone. I am not calling anyone a square because I am Square One. Insofar as posting my picks, I suck in the NFL. Plus, there are enough handicapping guru?s such at Raymond, Nolan, Fletch, Thunder, Roger, Hoops and many others here at MJ that my picks would just be a waste of time and space in the forum. Then again, maybe I should post my opinions on some games. They might be of some ?fading? values.

Oh...my opinion on this "lock"...How in the world is Dallas favored in this game! Ah...because home field is worth 3 points in the NFL. Vegas is actually saying that on neutral ground, Carolina is the superior team...and they are! By 1 point. Dallas has no advantage at home with the new carpet in Texas Stadium. The fans in Irving are virtually nonexistent. So are you going to trust Q. Carter to cash your ticket? Don't be misled by his 200+ yards in the last 4 games. Those are meaningless yards. He can't deliver when the game is on the line. Plus, can you trust the Cowboys coaching staff with their knuckle-head decisions? They have proven time and time again that they know as much football as a third grade girl. Look at how the Cowboys lost last Sunday. I think the lock is the other way, my friend. Bet the Panthers on the money line.

Best of luck to you, Joey.

Cryboy -

Why the hell was my name brought into this?

Thank you for coming back and commenting now I can fade the hell out of you and get some pay back.

I think you were that kid in the third grade I used to take his lunch money from every other day. Glad to be able to put some money back in your pockets on that Monday play.

I am taking DALLAS MONEYLINE ........BIG !:moon: :moon: :moon:

as u can tell by my avatar im a dallas fan and always will be even durin 0-16 seasons.........although i do agree that the cowboys coaching staff lost the game vs the giants and they couldnt win a flag football game...i will have to disagree with ur comment about CARTER cant do anything when it counts.......if im not mistaken he drove the team about 30 yds 2 weeks ago with under a minute left to beat the rams ???? now in noway shape or form am i saying q.carter is a great qb because hes not but other than the first game against the texans hes been coming alon nicely.......and the bottom line is if we could get a "real" owner to replace jones we could maybe see the light again !!!!!

wow thats the first time I heard anything about unhappiness with Jones. Do you texas guiys think like the majority of us do about Jones ? He just seems to have his nose way too far into things. I wouldnt doubt if he calls all the offensive plays directly into Quincys helmet with a special phone hook up.

Just like we had to endure Ted Turner for many years, you guys will just have to wait until Jones gets tired or something.

Good luck I think the cowboys win this week.

if owner jones called it then he must really like the rush and the adrenaline flow he gets from it. that and knowing he has the power to do what he wants probably strokes his ego.

how reliable are your sources?

how reliable are your sources?

:)

although I'm not a huge jones supporter...mostly for the way tom landry was let go...he did bring three super bowl championships to dallas...he probably knows just as much or more about the game of football then any owner in the league because he actually played the game...it makes a difference...his riff with johnson years back put the whole "team" concept in dallas in serious question because players will play for a coach before an owner...his recent facelift didn't give him brownie pts. either...everyone likes to jump on the bandwagon about how dumb he is when they are losing because it's easy to do...but I'm curious to see if the boys ever come back how everyone treats jones...again I'm not a big jones supporter...he has enough money...but I am a cowboys fan! :D

now about the game...I just don't see the cowboys beating the panthers this week...plain and simple... ;)

Well a post with diiferant opinions that's good. Now what did everyone think about Joe's ? on the Under. It does look that like a under. The number is low and a mistake or two could push the over. A 14 or 17 to 10 game would not surprise me.

The initial posted "lock" is on the UNDER.

Here is my take on the o/u. Dallas veteran safety D. Woodson is out for this game. This is the play maker for Dallas. Not sure how many points the 'boys can put up, but Panthers should get at least 3 TD's.

[Quincy Carter]
Did you know that Q. Carter is tied with Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman for the most consecutive games with 200+ yards? Franchise record at 4. Wow! But be careful...sometimes numbers don't tell the whole story. Ever get a chance to see his eyes in the closing minutes of a game? Dude is totally lost. Listen to his interviews. He's half a notch above William "refrigerator" Perry. Geesh!

Yo! Scott...fade me baby.:D
