Is The Preakness a "playable" race?

I hate to even bring this up, but it is looking like an extremely small field with contention very clearly defined. DRF has the PPs available. Funny Cide and Peace Rules lead the contenders and little else looks promising.

My opininion is that there is just no value in the race. I suppose a $50 Ex box on Peace Rules/Funny Cide is a possible bet, but is not really my idea of playing the horses.

I was hoping to follow up a very successful Derby with a good Preakness as well, but will probably just have to pass the race.

I say its too early to say; at least until they draw the entries. Midas Eyes may go, and Frankel seemed higher on him than on Peace Rules. All these trainers seem to think they have Belmont horses but nobody really knows who can last that long.

If Peace Rules and Funny Cide are the 2 favorites, I'd advice against just loading up on the chalky box. One will probably win but the other will probably be off the board. Look at last year; War Emblem repeated his Derby victory but 45-1 shot Magic Weisner got up for 2nd and keyed a huge exacta.
