i think martinez is fighting feb 14, cintron has stepped in.
that sucks, i was looking to play clottey big over cintron, won't happen now.

rather then start a new thread, we could use this for berto/collazo info.

i found a vid of a berto workout, mosly pad work, its long 17 min. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XmvyyozDYc&feature=channel_page

not much to say really, tho i dont like the way his trainer holds the pads. its a common problem i see at gyms, they hold the pads too wide, so youre aiming your punches too wide apart, and needlessly twisting your body at an unrealistic target.

watch roger mayweather work with floyd for example, it's all tight and accurate, with the pads close together, sometimes just 1 pad for multiple punches. no wasted motion, nothing wide.

im going to watch some more berto on youtube, but i dont recall him being the most accurate puncher, rather mowing guys down through speed, power and volume. and after seeing this pad work, i can see why his accuracy isn't there. he also points his elbows at too sharp of an angle, rather than tight and straight. he's basically throwing at his trainer's shoulders and and far hips, rather than chin and ribs. i like when pad holders use 1 pad for both hands, and keep it relatively close to their face, so it strongly resembles an opponent.

i really wished i had seen berto's padwork prior to the forbes fight, i would have been more cautious about the ko prop. he didn't have the accuracy or straight punches to get forbes at odd angles.

im not sure how i will bet this fight, but my confidence in a berto ko waned significantly.

i dont think collazo has enough to beat berto, but a sturdy and accurate fighter can beat him, providing they reasonable pop.

ps Margarito looks in fine shape! the rumors i heard were way off. im probably going small on Margo 7-12.

after thinking about it, im small on collazo. i think he'll make it competitive but fade down the stretch, and lose a close decision. if it is close, the decision will almost go to HBO's boy Berto.

Luis needs a perfect gameplan and to expolit berto's flawed form and footwork, at +475 it's worth a risk for me. Hatton has much faster feet than does Berto and was much better at controlling the distance, Berto likes to plant and throw quick combinations. If Collazo keeps this fight moving, counters Berto's combination attempts early and doesn't trade with him, he can pull this out.

i understand that martinez can`t find an opponent.....

ALL garbage fights on the undercard so no co-feature. I suspect HBO will be selling Margo/Mos for much of the remaining time.

I was going to load up on Clottey as well. He would have eaten up Kermit and I think we would have had reasonable odds.
