Stanford is only -4 versus USC?? It has become very evident that USC has thrown in the towel this season and plays WITH NO consistency or heart. These guys have some talent but no patience to play smart or with poise. I gotta look into this more but Stanford is a solid team and -4 is too low -185 ML seems likes a gift.. but vegas never gives gifts do they :nono: :nono: ?? Seton Hall tonight was one...

I know my record has been nothing short of crap.. but I am close to making Stanford a GOY play... I am looking really closely at this one...

Stanford has beat USC twice and Usc is falling off lately as Stanford's play is imporving each and every game...

Stanford is well coached and usually never comes out and lays a dud.. they play hard unlike USC who just is getting worse and shows no heart...

Stanford 5-1-1 in last 7 ATS
USC is 2-5 in last 7 ATS...

Very interesting... im gonna look at this one more and make my decision tomorrow.....

Any of your better cappers got some thoughts???

thanks!! ;)

FYI, I just read a Cover's website article regarding the Pac10 tourney, and it said that some of the key players for Stanford expressed that they aren't too concerned about this tourney when they have finals at the moment. Their school year is based on quarters and I guess many of them focusing on school as well. However, the author's pick was still Stanford -4.

thanks for the information.. what the hell lol what do they players mean they are not concerned?? I am suprised to see Colleeg players actually concerened about grades?!?! But do you really think Vegas factored that into the line? I mean once they start the game I would think their focus would be on the game at hand and not grades, but hell what do i know?? not much evidently...

you kind of answered your own question.

you said usc has talent- and they played stanford close BOTH TIMES this year. in fact, they flat out blew the game a few weeks ago in southern cal. usc was up by like 4 with like 2:30 left and lost somehow. and the game in stanford was very close until free throws made the final score close to DD.

and for ALL the conference tourneys from here on out- keep in mind, there are so many "too good to be true lines" out there. but theyre set for a reason. teams like stanford are already locked into the ncaa tourney. and thats why tons of already-in-the-tourney teams get bounced early in their conference tourneys.

Gman you are right.. thanks for the input. The lines so far in these counference tourney's have made me want to post a GOY every other second lol... I am going to hold off on playing Stanford as my GOY, but I like them to win tomorrow...

Im eyeing:

Iowa St
C Mich
Stanford
Mizzou

May do a ML parlay and toss all those teams in there.... not sure yet

I do like your clemson play though.. I watch ACC games like no other (Recent terp grad) and Clemson has their moments.. Fsu isnt too bad but away from home they dont have much....

Gman just to lay out my logic on why I loved Stanford so much, I looked at it in 2 ways. USC is done, no hope for the NCAA's and there is no way they are going to win the Pac-10 title to get the automatic bid, so they are playing for ABSOLUTELY nothing. Stanford on the other hand, while in the tourney, can improve their seeding with an impressive showing in the PAC-10 tourney. I know that they wont have all the urgency, as in making it a MUST win game, but i think they want to win this one more than USC, they have more to play for... PLUS i just saw that Big Game Hunter agrees and posted Stanford as a huge play :D :D

So I am going to split my bet into 2 parts for Stanford, half on -4 and half on the ML...

Overall Record a terrible.. 2-6.. Even for the week though... when i dont post i do much better but I had to get my thoughts out on this game....

Thanks and sorry for the long post.. I am a newbie trying to learn...

by no means trying to discredit what youre saying.
but i dont particularly buy the "improve your seeding" part (in relation to stanford). in a vacuum- or course everybody wants to "improve their seeding". but past conference tourneys have showed up that laying points can be murder, as the favorite rarely matches the intensity of their dog counterpart.

as far as usc in particular- why cant they win the pac-10 tourney? that team is loaded with athletes, and theres no reason they couldnt win it. theyre not gonna go there and just "mail it in".

jmo.

gl man.

honestly, conference tournaments are GROSSLY overrated. the only reason they play em is because they are HUGE moneymakers for the conference. the regular season title and the big dance itself are much higher on the totem pole for these teams as far as preseason aspirations.

I assume you know that the game is in LA. They won't be playing on their home court, but they will be sleeping in their own beds.
