For those wondering what happened.........






- The cause of the crash was a computer malfunction.

- The Captain (he has 40 years of experience) did a fantastic job avoiding a major disaster, he had 13 seconds to make a decision, and decided to purposely crash into the dock.

- If he did nothing the yacht would have crashed into the bridge, and that could have been not only a loss of lives, but a major environmental problem (massive amounts of fuel being dumped into the water).

- The Captain was unable to "turn the computers off" and take control of the ship, he eventually grounded the ship into the shore. He had no steering and could only guide the ship with the use of one of the back propellers.

If you look at the video below you can imagine what would have happened if he slammed into that small bridge. If you were on that bridge when the boat hit, you were pretty much dead.

The real question is........how the hell can you have a yacht like that, that is completely controlled by a computer, unreal:facepalm:





Note: The yacht is owned by Capri Sun mogul Hans-Peter Wild. Yes, that Capri Sun, yep, the one you are thinking of.....
