i just have to take casa at those odds...

i love marquez....probably the most beautiful fighter to watch in the last decade,imo...i`m a huge believer in jmm...

but..........he`s fighting a guy that`s as clever a counter puncher...a lefty...naturally bigger...and jmm has fallen pray to that same straight left hand that casa uses so well...

yes, maybe casa has a little more wear on him, but, unless casamayor`s age is bogus(as some cuban boxer`s ages have been known to be),by fight time, casa will be 37/marquez 35...

i don`t see marquez as being as strong or heavy handed as a corrales or castillo...or a katsidis.....

imo, marquez will have to "out-technician" casa...

and i remember back in the day, marquez looking a bit befuddled by an awkward, slick lefty named freddie norwood....

it pains me...but,i just don`t see this as some sort of slam dunk for marquez....

imo, vs this caliber opposition -330/+270 is way off in marquez` first lightweight fight.........

in this fight, instead of getting a young strong aggressive opponent pushing him every round......or a much taller guy,he gets a smaller guy that likes to fight at a deliberate pace....

even the greatest of the great sometimes reach a little to far...

Well, weasel I was at the fight with Norwood at Mandalay Bay. We all see things diffferently, but I had JMM winning that fight. I'll never forget the look on his face when he realized they gave the decision to Norwood. Utter disbelief. Marquez is not Kastidis. Any guy willing to fight Manny Pac 3x is a tough hombre. Casa was losing his fight with Kastidis until the kid walked into a shot from Casa. Good luck with your play. I'm not totallly convinced either way at this point.

well,i`m not laying -330...i`m getting +270........that obviously also figured into my decision......

katsidis was fighting 2:45 of each 3:00 minute round hard and casa was under pressure from the jump....i doubt that being the naturally smaller guy,and that not really being his style, that jmm presents that type of problem......which is a big problem for a 37 year old fighter..

if i were marquez,i`d have fought at least one time at 135 to get a feel for the extra weight...

i understand marquez being the fave....but there are real questions here......

and i think, for some odd reason, casamayor always seems to get short shrift in certain boxing circles...

the guy has one helluva resume...he`s fought big names, has never been stopped despite being in with some vicious punchers...and always seems to be in fights....

did he win a few dubious decisions?...yeah...but,2 of his 3 losses have been via split decision....

i just can`t feature jmm in the ring with corrales...or castillo...or even katsidis at this point....they just seem to big and strong...and chico and castillo stepping up a weight class to far is still fresh in my mind......

maybe my perception is off.....it`s very possible that jmm is a little to quick at this point in casamayor`s career...

i still have to take +270 with a fighter of this caliber vs a guy moving up for the first time...

I understand your reasoning, but for me there are just one to many intangibles for me to get on board here. Rumors abound that Joel is OLDER than advertised. Who knows? Then again, so what. Bernard Pop-kins is fighting a 27 year old in Pavlik. Ole poppy is like 43 or so, But back to this I think JMM has maybe a little bit more left in the tank than Casa. I won't lay-330, no way, so best of luck to you; I'll just watch or bet the round prop, over.

the over prop looks like a good`un....

if i recall, this line opened about even.....and the public bet it up....

that`s another aspect of this play i like....

but,who knows?....i`m wagering against "my guy"....

i won`t be crushed if jmm wins...

I join you gardenweasel!

+270 looks like value, those extra 5 lbs might make the difference, who knows....

Marquez does get hit with the straight left by a lefty (Pacman), and thats the same punch that decked Katsidis a couple of times...
