maldini very questionable for todays match, injured during practice.

maldini very questionable for todays match, injured during practice.

Ksyas... gonna be a much tougher match than most think. Croazia was not ranked number 3 in the world on accident. I'll take a draw.;)

i knew it....Losing Nesta hurt very bad,. arguably the best defender in the world, but still no excuse. But not too worry you italian haters, dont get your hopes up just yet. Incredible officiating by the way. And mark my words folks if italia does not make the 2nd round, Materazzi will be found in the ocean. Maldini should have stepped it up defensively and gotten on his ass, and closed up there Defense like they normally do. Totally uncalled for allowing even 1 goal.

Antonio,

I'm a fan of Italy here, what a ****ing game, those refs need to be hang. It's just one of those games when nothing going your way, losing Nesta, dis-allowed goals, Totti hit the post...etc. **** the refs. We want "replay" in World Cup!!!

As an unbiased observer, I think the Italians got jobbed. Deserved at least a draw.

Very enjoyable game to watch, tho. Lots of desire on both sides. And nobody flopping or diving in the box.

I got a bad feeling when Nesta went out, and my blood start boiling when the first goal was dis-allow. But after Vieri scored, I told me Dad and friends, this is it. So un-freaking believable, the whole house is still mad!!!

Andy

P.S. Sorry for using alot of foul languge, but I'm just totally being so crazy mad. This could be alot trouble for Italy if Mexico and Croatia both beat Ecuado, Italy will likely to be like France, they will not only needing a win over Mexico, but also need to win with a margin of goals for goal diff. This is what I hate to be a die hard fan of Italy, cause me alot of bad temper and high blood pressure since I followed them in the 90.

Thanks Chucky, i feel like someone just ripped my heart out. But i give croazia an enromous amount of credit for not backing down at 1-0. The refs were ****in clueless especially the linesman. BUT i was taught when you have a man one on one as Matarazzi had Rapaic you never even allow the shot, when i use to play in italy if we even allowed a shot on net , not just a goal, The defender would uphill sprints in the sand, until his knees were ready to explode. Always taught to break there legs, before ever allowing a shot, and they say soccer is not a contact sport:rolleyes:

Yes I still do think Italy will be ok, but it's harder than the USA 94. Back in 94, Italy lost its first game to Ireland, beat Norway and draw with Mexico and still advance as a second seed to face Nigeria in second round, that was the game when Baggio shined and carried Italy all the way to the Final. For every single tournament, I have to get a new "heart" since it broken many times. Well , now things are getting real exciting as the 4 power houses (Italy , France, Argentina, Germany) are facing early sudden death.

Graham Poll and that linesman will be packing their bags after this.

Funny thing is, Poll had no clue why the linesman was flagging at both occasions but he had no guts to overrule it, even though he can.

The Croatian commentator thought Italy were getting a penalty in that last minute and didn't know why the first goal was disallowed.

What a joke.

Italy has always been my least favorite team but I must admit there was some questionable stuff in that game, to say the least. The pull down call on the ball that trickled in from midfield should have given them a draw in my view.

All that said, I still won't lose any sleep over the result because Italians play the most boring soccer in the world with the most cheap tactics so it is impossible to feel sorry for them. I hope Mexico plays as dirty as the Italians surely will and holds them to a 0-0 draw to knock them out.

(BTW, has there ever been a greater moment than France scoring in stoppage time to snatch the European Championship from Italy in 2000?)
