Maybe this is nuts ...

Maybe this is nuts ...

... but for a couple of years now I have been making some insurance plays when my results start going strong in one direction or another. Here's what I mean:

Last week from Monday thru Thursday I really did well mostly due to the guys on this board like TTM$. So, on Saturday I thought that things would either get better or a lot worse. On Saturday I made 10 plays, hit all 10, made two 5 way parlays to fade those picks and one 5 way parlay on what appeared to be the top selections. I've never had a day where I went 10-0 before so needless to say, hitting all those PLUS a 5-way parlay was a big day. Sunday was a good day as well, but nothing like Saturday.

Monday night I lost 3 bets. For some reason I have noticed over the years that when things swing from a really big day like last Saturday that it gets equally ridiculous in the other direction.

So, today I made 8 plays and bought 2 insurance parlays (fade all picks) covering the early and late sessions. The first parlay lost but the second one just came in when So. Carolina failed to cover. So I layed 4/10th of a unit for the parlays JUST in case that all the games blew out.

For the day I went 2-6 on straight wagers = -4.6 units
I went 1-1 on 4 way parlays, each for 4/10th unit = +3.6 units

So, by insuring my bets I cut my losses to only 1 unit for the day.

Maybe I'm nuts, but it's been working for me for quite a while.

I dont see how that can work................what if you go say 2-8 on you reg plays...........then 1-4 on each insurance parley.........you would lose every bet. Maybe I am not reading this right............
