Any one else?
NOBODY has my Verizon email account...I barely use it, mostly yahoo. But one a day the last three days Ive been getting sent them. 2 were mydoom, and one netsky. They look highly suspicious so I forward them to my yahoo account and scan them and sure enough. Unreal. The 2nd one said Subject line: Is this important? Then message said That the file was damaged when I sent it to them. The file was called sexy pics.zip lol.
SO be on the lookout, my guess is verizon email list was hacked into.

and so you know *countinguy* from in here, i'm not accusing you of maliciously sending a virus....don't even know if you use AOL....but if you do, possibly something was forwarded from your puter to anything you may have in you addy list.

yeah, i thought it was strange too, countinguy.... there was no text with the message, the only thing that came thru was what AOL said was a virus that they had blocked.....doesn't say which virus or anything. Received 3 more mails with the same message, but didn't recognize any of the senders names, and they had different subject lines.

after i tried to open the mail from what i thought may be you, your name also automatically popped into my IM list, so i looked at the profile, so fairly sure it was your puter that managed to send it somehow......technology sucks sometimes doesn't it? LOL

i'll send you a screen capture of my mail list, and you can let me know if it may be just someone with the same name as yours on here.

i just figured out something about the virus mail under the name countinguy .... since we both use AOL, i was able to tell when he sent me a real mail that it wasn't actually even sent from his puter..... from AOL to AOL, it only lists the screen name for who the mail was received from, and not the aol.com part....hmmmmm

also in the past week, i received a return mail from the MAILER-DAEMON for a mail that was never even sent from my puter, so wonder if the same thing is going out in my screen name, and if it goes to an unknown recipient is the only way i find out about it.

BahamaMama, I have recieved a ton of those undeliverable mail things for mail I have never sent as well, hhmmm. I don't use AOL nor have I been sent a virus that I am aware of, but if you find out anything about those kind of messages please let us know.

Thanks

Ok Guys and Gals,

Just spend the last hour screwing around w/this and the only thing I found was on my laptop found some program called information.exe and my virus program say this could be a threat. If anybody knows what the hell this is please let me know.

Well anyways I deleted it, and mama I have gotten those types of emails back also like u and peguin said, if anybody knows what this means let us know.

Not a computer genius here, but this thing really amazes me cause I have Norton's virus program running on the laptop 24/7.

BAHAMA MAMA,

Try to change your AOL PASSWORD immediately and every so often.. Sometime back on AOL i got these IM's from someone on my BUDDY LIST because she thought i was IM'ing her. And apparently someone was IM'ing her under my screenname and she thought it was me.. Then a few minutes later i was getting an AOL NOTICE on my screen saying i was logged on in 2 places at once.

Somehow some imbecile got my PASSWORD and was IM'ing people under my screenname.

:D

pujo, counting, and penguin......

keep in mind here that even tho you guys may think you don't know much about computers, you are getting a response from THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE most computer clueless person in the world!!!!

there have been a couple times in the past where my kids have clicked on links in e-mails saying they have received an e-card or something of that nature...... when the link is clicked on, it asks you to enter your screen name and password from AOL ...... shortly after that, your screen name is being used to spam the entire world.... next, AOL shuts you down for spamming, and tells you that you are responsible for all screen names on your account.....LOL...

..........butttttttttttttttttttttttt, when it is something like that that swipes your password, the mail being *sent* shows up in YOUR sent mail.... with the thing i just got, it showed my computer or my actual screen name was not who sent it..... it was someone from an anonymous mailer or something using my screen name @aol. com (if that makes sense).... which appears to be the same thing with the mail i got from CG.... in the *blocked for virus* message that came thru from AOL, it mentioned that it came from Roadrunner.com

would appreciate it if anyone could explain this to any of us computer dummies :D

If you are gettin mass mailing sounds like your computer may be loaded with spyware. No antivirus will protect you from it. You have to get some spyware software and clean your computer FIRST, then get some anti-spyware software.

Spybot search and destroy offers spyware removal and some anti-spyware solutions. You can get it at:
