Sunday is the traditional opening Ivy League game of the season with Dartmouth at Harvard...

Dartmouth +7

Dartmouth has a new coach in Terry Dunn (ten seasons as an asst at Colorado and CSU) who will play a much more uptempo O than his predecessor...the Big Green's best player Leon Pattman quit the team in Dec but they have some decent young talent...freshman pg Mike Giovacchini will match up against his senior brother David who is the pg at Harvard.

Dartmouth doesn't have a lot of good ball handlers and is susceptible to the press but they have some good shooters...fortunately for them Harvard doesn't play much D and 7' center Cusworth is in his first game back after a broken thumb. While Cus could prove to be a factor in the Ivy he still has a lot to prove as he sat out all of last season with a foot injury...

I was very impressed with Dartmouth's recent performance at Stanford...while Stanford is not as good as they were last year, Dartmouth survived a tough start on the road to hang with them for at least the first half...

I look for this game to be a fairly close high-scoring affair, possibly settled in OT...

Thanks guys...this was a very close game and Harvard just pulled it out at the end...I had heard a "rumor" that senior pg Steve Callahan would be back for Dartmouth...despite playing with a cast on his hand he knocked down some big shots and took good care of the ball...looking forward to the rematch of this game next week...Lang and Gardner also played well...
