While the Raiders defense is certainly below average, the Chiefs come into tonight with a horrific YPR allowed this season at a whopping 4.9. That number places them in the Cleveland Browns area of run defense.
LT just pushed out 200 yards against that same run defense yesterday at a whopping 7.6 YPC.
That being said, I know the Raiders did not fare as well against those Browns while rushing for less than 100 yards, but that came on 20 carries. Penalties kept Oakland in a frequent passing position in that ugly, ugly game.
Raiders kick Sebastian Janikowski is very capable of putting any kickoff in the end zone. Oakland punter Shane Lechler is one of the league's best punters with a 50.6 average. The Raiders believe he can punt out of bounds if necessary without risking the loss of field position.
Yes, the Raiders run defense is pathetic. In fact, its surrendering an NFL-worst 164.7 rushing yards per game and allowing opponents to complete 63.2 percent of their passes.
I dont think the Raiders will committ 19 penalties tonight.
I do think they will have success running the football.
I dont think Hall will be a significant factor as in weeks past.
Saying that tonights game is a 'must win' for the Raiders is an understatement. I hate using those terms, but with the amount of veteran leadership on a team just six games removed from the Super Bowl - its hard not to. A loss would put them five games behind Kansas City in the AFC West with nine regular-season games remaining.
Im going out on a limb tonight and playing a point spread prop at OLY. Think Oakland takes this one, just hope its not by three.
With that in mind, making a play on tonights game in a value oriented position.
