Been watching.

Not betting.

Looking into some situations today with this Caps-Rangers game.

NYR has managed one goal in over 6 peroids of hockey in the first two affiars, including the scoreless OT. They scraped into the playoffs as an #8 seed and that wasnt even certain until near last minute regular season. Now theyre going up against the fav to make it to the Cup Finals with a history of stumbles in the postseason.

If Tampa Bay is getting back in this series, someone aside from Martin St. Louis and Dwayne Roloson needs to step up. Roloson stopped 50 shots in Game 4, and he has really been a pillar in the pipes in this series. St. Louis has just been a man child, though. The Lightning have fallen behind 2-0 in both of the last two games, and he had his hands in all four goals that sparked the comebacks in the two outings. However, the big question that NHL betting fans of the Lightning have is where in the heck is Steven Stamkos?!?! The Stammer was really the leader of this offense this season with St. Louis, but the youngster has yet to log a goal, and he really just doesn?t look right on the ice right now. As a result, the Lightning have really become one dimensional offensively, and they really don?t have the look of a team that can win this series. Either Stamkos has to show up to play in Game 5, or a ton of other players need to pick up his production to be able to survive.

The Penguins can taste victory in this series, but they know just how quickly the tide can turn on a seven game set like this one, and they know that Tampa Bay has a very dangerous team that can score goals in bunches. The play of Marc-Andre Fleury has been solid, but it certainly hasn?t been remarkable. He might have been the winning goalie on Wednesday night, but he surely wasn?t the better of the two after having let in two goals on 31 shots in the game in comparison to the 53 shots that Roloson faced. The key for Pittsburgh has been striking first. The team has scored first in this series has won all four games, and that team is also absolutely dominating the postseason as a whole. Arron Asham and Tyler Kennedy have combined for five goals between them, and both are coming off of great games in Tampa Bay. James Neal logged the game winner in double overtime in Game 4, and he could be key for helping the Pens get into the second round of the playoffs as well.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Pittsburgh Penguins Pick: We?re just not so sure that we have seen the last of the Lightning. Tampa Bay is the real deal, and it really does have the talent to pull this off.

1-1 +1.52 units

Kicking myself for not laying the full -1 1/2 goals on the reverse puck line. No balls, but the payout was only another +90 , not another full unit.

I will most likely not have a winning NHL record in the playoffs, but I will make money. Thats really all that matters to me. The rest of todays games are priced correctly, if not shaded a bit to the favored side and laying chalk is not my style.

Grats to all on the Lightning in an easy W that paid like a 2 team parlay.

The Eastern Conference Quarterfinals between the Buffalo Sabres and the Philadelphia Flyers really couldn?t be any more balanced than it is. Sure, Buffalo has the 3-2 series lead, but both teams have netted 12 goals in the five outings. Philly is on the ropes and needs a win to force a do or die Game 7 next week, so it has to take care of business in NHL betting action on Easter Sunday first.

The Flyers really just need to get some healthy bodies together again. The problem that they have is that Chris Pronger, Jeff Carter, and Andreas Nodl have all been out of the lineup, and none of them are really expected to be able to give it a go in Game 6 either. Of course, it would really help matters if Head Coach Peter Laviolette could settle on just one goalkeeper. The net has had three different bodies in it thus far for Philly in this series, as Sergei Bobrovsky, Brian Boucher, and now Michael Leighton have all had their turn. It?s going to be hard to not let Leighton start Game 6 even though he only played in one game in the entire regular season this year after starting the back end of the playoffs last year. The team responded a season ago to the switch by completing an epic comeback against the Boston Bruins and parlaying that into a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals, and the truth of the matter is that the team looked a heck of a lot different when he came into the game on Friday night down 3-0. Sure, he lost in OT, but desperate times call for desperate measures, and right now, Leighton is the only man that Laviolette can really turn to.

Buffalo has no doubts about who is going to be guarding its net in Game 6, as Ryan Miller really has had a relatively strong series. However, it isn?t the defense and the goaltending, but the offense that really has us surprised. You have to have one heck of an offensive output to be able to run not one, but two different goalies right out of a series, and though 12 goals in five games really isn?t all that impressive by normal standards, in a series like this, those goals are invaluable. The injury situation for Buffalo isn?t great either, as Jason Pominville, who has already been a hero in this series with one game winning goal, is doubtful after cutting his leg in Friday night?s Game 5. The most recent hero for the boys in the Empire State is Tyler Ennis. He scored in overtime for the game winning goal in Game 5, and he was also the first man to light the lamp in the first period as well.

Philadelphia Flyers vs. Buffalo Sabres Pick: Why not, right? This series has been back and forth every step of the way, and this game should be no exception.
