Outright plays (1.5pts):
Karrie Webb to win 14/1 e.w. @ Bet365 and Paddy Power
Webb returned home to Australia for a couple of weeks for personal reasons, but she also spent time with her coach, Kelvin Haller, and has committed to play the next three weeks on Tour so she seems to be refocused on the LPGA Tour. If so, her credentials for this event are impressive. She has finished in the top-5 in four of the last six years and was a winner only two months ago. She should also be fresher than most of the field who competed at Sunningdale last week, so should be a very strong contender if fully focussed on this event.
Michele Redman to win 40/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
With two top-5 finishes in her last three starts - and both of those were in majors - she is clearly in good enough form to contend this week, particularly against a rather weak field. She may not have played the course previously, but this is more than compensated by the price.
Jennifer Rosales to win 50/1 e.w. @ Stan James
A staggering price from Stan James on a player who is generally no more than 25/1. True, she was one of the players whose clubs were lost on the flight over to France for the Evian Masters and true, she did withdraw during the first round with an injury, but her clubs did arrive in time for the Women's British Open and the latest reports are that her wrist injury is no longer a concern. She even shot 66 to win the pro-am before the British Open, but could only manage a 36th place finish after a poor first round. A winner already this year and a top-10 finisher last year, J-Ro is certainly not a 50/1 shot!
